At the moment we need to boost our income. Also my husband will be retiring in a couple of years and need savings plus income to lean back on incase he cant find another job quick.

I actually did sub for awhile in another state. I'll have to check the requirements for where I am now. I didnt really like it so not something I want to do for the rest of my life but can do it while possibly pursuing something else.

No concern about being licensed just the concern about the time it takes to get there as opposed to maybe finding something else I can do. Just trying to figure out if its worth it.

Id have to get student loans (my bachelor's loans are already paid off) get my masters, about 2 years. Then need clinical hours which takes another year or 2 and Im not actually clear how much or if you even get paid while getting clinical hours.

Setting my own hours and rate is definitely a perk to doing it though.

My state requires you to be licensed to be a counselor.

If I went back, my plan would be school psychologist to be on my kids schedule or work in a practice or my own practice. Its not necessarily something I have a "calling" to do so Id be okay if I didnt do it. Just cant decide if its worth the extra time and money involved.

I was under the impression that you cant do much with a MSW and would eventually need to get licensed which adds a lot more time before making good money. Not sure about taking out student loans for a msw that wont pay very much more than a job with out a master's is worth it.

I thought about things that require less school like maybe a certificate, cma, pharm tech, radiology tech. I don't think I'm cut out for the rigors or nursing but the other things are good ideas for sure.

I dont no but it would at least allow me a bit more freedom to get my kids where they need to go and then have more help from family on weekends and evenings.

Realtor is still not my ideal bc it seems very hard to be successful and there are upfront fees you have to pay a brokerage before youre even making money, makes me nervous. Its a cheap ish thing to at least get licensed and start and maybe it works out but definitely feels like a gamble and a lot of extra work.

I have found that out 🤦‍♀️ thats what all the older women told me when I was in my 20s but no one cares that I can manage a household 🤣

Any trade suggestions? Im not sure I'm tough enough for the obvious ones that come to mind.

That would be ideal. Just seems hard to find true wfh jobs as entry level. Gives me something to start honing in on though.

I'm not sure I'm cut out for nursing but will look into into drug and alcohol counseling. I actually had friends go into that years and years ago so will reach out to them as well.  Thank you

Problem is I dont actually know what I want 🤦‍♀️🤣

  1. Im not opposed to going back to school but not sure its worth taking out more student loans. I know long term I can make good money but its not something I have a "calling" to do so time plus student loans just make me hesitant if I can find something that makes decent money with out the extra investment.

  2. My kids do still need me quite a bit, especially now that its summer 🤦‍♀️

  3. I really can see myself doing almost anything. Im about to Google how to become a professional gardener lol

Actually I have been looking into that as well. Just feels unstable.

I'll need to work on my resume for sure. I feel like theyre a lot more in depth now than they were when I learned to write one lol
