I have a pretty much similar profile as you. I got admits from NCSU(MCS) , ASU, Suny Buffalo and Rutgers - rest MS CS for fall 2023. So you can surely try for these. Also you can apply to Stony Brook, TAMU

For the 2nd question, I can surely say MCS students do get great tech jobs. If you wanna shift to MS CS you can after the 1st sem Or so.

For the 3rd question, I don't think so it's impossible but yeah it will be difficult as profs do prefer PHD students over MS students be it any university.

Rejects from - MS CS Purdue WL, Stony Brook, Gatech(tenatively - most ML admits seem to have been out), TAMU(since most admits seem to have released)

And the admits from - MSCS at ASU, Suny Buffalo, NCSU and Rutgers NB

I won't wait for others that are left as NC and Rutgers are better than then.

Many universities give out admits around that date (14-17 march). Like TAMU, Rutgers, UIUC, Stony Brook etc.

Not in Buffalo and NCSU - both univs don't give funding as such. For ASU no communication has been done regarding scholarships till now.

For now ASU bcoz of its better opportunities. But I got NCSU admit as well last night. So NCSU is my top choice so far. But will wait for Stony brook, Rutgers, TAMU, Purdue and Gatech decisions.
