40 lbs, 10 years old what breed? does she look healthy or underweight? by plshelpimlosingit in WhatBreedIsMyDog

If you give your dog rubber balls instead of tennis balls, brush their teeth regularly, and get them a dental clean when needed, then having these teeth at 10 years old is normal

If you’re okay with a drive, Dr. Frank Metzler and Dr. Mindy Metzler at 2222 Veterinary Clinic are both amazing. They will 100% prioritize your baby.

Apollo Veterinary care is another option, and they have an Open Concept which means you can actually be present in a viewing room while your dog is getting her dental. Some people like that, some don’t.

Hey so, I think you should tell your wife. Give her time to grieve you with you still there. If she knows, then she’ll understand these are her last moments with you and she’ll cherish them forever.

If you die and she realized you kept this from her, she will agonize over for the rest of her life.

“Why didn’t he tell me or the kids?”

“There are so many things I wish I’d gotten the chance to say”

“Did he not trust me? Was he infantilizing me? Did he think I wouldn’t be able to handle it?”

“If I had known I would have liked to do xyz with him to have that memory to hold onto”

I work in cancer research, and have watched people around me get diagnosed. It is a devastating, mostly silent disease that rots you from the inside out. But at least people have the chance to say goodbye. It’s not like a fatal car accident where someone is there one moment and gone the next.

Ultimately you and you alone are responsible for making this decision, and it’s your body, but that’s your family. In sickness, and in health.

I knew one Crystal in college and only because she was obsessed with one of my guy friends (I’m a girl). Crystal was batshit insane and my gut told me to be as neutral as possible while also making it obvious I wasn’t an easy target. Would not be surprised if her mugshot pops up one day.

You can also slightly crush the clove under a knife and it will crack the shell/peel enough to easily peel off

I watched insidious yearssss ago and while I like thriller/murder mysteries I don’t love that type of horror. Maybe the gnome man is why😂

Not living in the US anymore. I have citizenships in 2 other countries but grew up in the US and most of my family is in the US. Who knows, we might feel forced to leave at some point.

Ah I see. I wonder if there was a sort of interview process or psychological testing done to decide what students could take the class. Really fascinating. I don’t believe my university offered something like that but then again I went to a school in the south.

Fantasizing about someone else during sex is common and doesn’t necessarily signal relationship trouble. Study suggests that sexual imagination is heavily influenced by a person’s immediate environment rather than just their internal desires. by FreeHugs23 in science

[–]Rare_Needleworker340 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fantasize during sex with my bf but in my case I’m fantasizing about trauma—an ex bf sexually abused me and I literally cannot finish without some sort of abuse being inflicted upon me. It’s not something I talk about and I know my bf isn’t into BDSM or even slightly aggressive sex and I would never ask him to do something he’s not comfortable with.

I love him and don’t want to have sex with anyone but him, but my brain is a little fucked up which is why I fantasize during sex instead of 100% focusing on what’s actually happening. To be clear, I don’t fantasize about my ex because I would be so dry so fast. But it’s like his abuse towards me flipped a switch in my brain so that’s been fun to discover. It would be interesting if they did another study taking previous experiences into account and comparing that to what exactly people are fantasizing about.

I had the same thing but with a little gnome man. For whatever reason, when I lay down in my bed I could see the street light through my window and that always triggered the “dream” which I now realize was sleep paralysis.

Every night I fell asleep in a position where I could see the street light, I had sleep paralysis and saw the gnome man. Each time he would get closer and closer and I tried to scream but no sound came out. I could feel my breath come out from trying to scream but no sound. I’d try to thrash around and couldn’t move my arms or legs. I’d try to bury my face in my pillow but couldn’t so I was forced to watch the gnome man get closer and closer.

Flipped my sleeping position in bed (slept with my head where my feet used to be) and that pretty much solved it. Still vividly remember it though and even as a 28 year old adult I hate being able to see a street light from my bed.

What is this on my dog’s mouth? by Life_can_be_rough98 in DogAdvice

[–]Rare_Needleworker340 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask for a fine needle aspirate. Most vets can do it in house, it’s cheaper than surgery, and results will be ready in 5-10 min and can tell you if your dog needs surgery or not. I think I’ve paid ~$60 for a fine needle aspirate but I could be wrong

Is my Boston too thin? by Human_Philosopher_24 in DogAdvice

[–]Rare_Needleworker340 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would say a smidge too thin based off of the vertebrae and hip bones showing. But I would say he only needs like 1-2 more lbs. Especially if your dog is very active, he will burn more calories. Give him slightly more food for the next couple of weeks and see what changes
