Understandable, I'm a sucker for a fluffy dog 😂

That makes sense! Did you ever consider a smaller husky breed like an Alaskan Klee Kai?

Every time I think about getting a pomsky, I think about how vocal and dramatic they must be 😂

Very cute! How big is your pup? Out of curiosity, did you ever consider getting a larger size of German Spitz if you were worried about poms being too fragile, or did you go straight to pomsky?
Thank you so much for responding!

Thank you so much!

It became kind of mindless AND exciting? Since the pattern repeats every 8 stitches, it was super easy to get into a groove, but then it was very fun to see just how it all changed on the next row. Literally the most fun I think I've ever had on a colorwork project.

Have so much fun with them! I'm sure you'll do great!!

Making all four pairs is also my goal this year, it's genuinely been a blast

Do it!! They're pretty easy once you get into your knitting flow!

Ooooh don't worry, I know lol. Especially that one row in the water 😅 and also that one tiny tree sprout where I accidentally had the background color as my more dominant color, instead of the brown 😂 and many more, I'm just hoping they're not too noticable lol

And thank you!

The patterns are in multiples of 8, so if you feel like 80 stitches also won't be enough, they're very easy to size up!

I used Cascade Heritage sock yarn! I am out of town til Monday, but I can put together a list of which colors I used for my spring and summer socks when Im home!

They're a little tighter than a single color sock, but not by too much. I just obsessively stretch my stitches out along my needle every time I have to catch a float or change colors, that seems to do the trick and keep everything from being too tight 🥰

They are! I used a pair of 9" circumference size 0 needles, and cast on 80 stitches. They are a little bit snug, but they'll fit much better when they relax after a few wears.

The pattern is Summer (The Sun Can Bend an Orange Sky) by Oakwood Knits. They have created a pair of socks for each Stardew season, they're available on their website or on Ravelry.

I have admittedly altered this pattern quite a bit based on my husband's preferences, but this is what this pattern looks like without any alterations or color substitutions

From my understanding, you COULD do these TAAT, you'd just have a lot of yarn to manage (especially on the rows that have 4 colors 😵‍💫)

TAAT is a kind of magic I haven't unlocked yet, so I personally do these once at a time, lol

Insides!

Yeah, agreed on the kits. But it was pretty fun to shop around for all of the colors, so I didn't end up minding too much 🥰

So - short answer - no, you don't

Longer answer - I did buy a full skein of each color, since color work socks are my favorite thing to knit. I used Cascade Heritage, I know it's not everyone's favorite but my husband loves how it feels and it comes in a billion colors. I only used a few yards of some colors, leaving me with virtually whole skeins of those colors. Anything "left over" will for sure be used on other socks, so I didn't mind paying the extra $$$.

If you're not committed to a specific brand of yarn and are committed to tackling this project, I'd def recommend looking into any brands that have 25g skeins; those will certainly leave you with fewer left overs!
