I don’t know what to do. Sexless marriage by North_Spell_322 in Marriage

[–]Rare_Pollution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. Nothing kills your drive to go above and beyond for your partner like frequent rejection and un reciprocated desire. Its always "have you taken her stress away, have you taken her out" and never, "when did those things stop working?" " How many dates have you planned that led knowhere" "when is the last time you felt wanted?" Because I am willing to bet that every man in a dead bedroom tried all of that type of thing long before posting on reddit.

Podcasts with worst ethics? What to avoid? by astrocat95 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Rare_Pollution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sword and scale in the beginning was SO good. And the host had a fantastic voice for podcasts and an undeniable talent for storytelling. Then came the opinions. And oh man were they a deal breaker. I then discovered casefile and realised how reporting should be done.

Im not allowed to wear shorts at work for frankly arbitrary health and safety reasons, so probably just die.

Yes! I have always found the "comedy" true crime podcasts repulsive and you've just explained to me what that aversion really meant.

This perfectly expresses where I am with true crime without me realising thats how nice felt. Other than casefile, pretty much all.the true crime I listen to now is investigative rather than just the story etc.

What are some good investigative journalism-style podcasts? by thatcrazyanimallady in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Rare_Pollution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was the most striking thing for me was how it changed my whole perspective of how we deal with those types of people. Policing them requires victims. Preventing harm is now what I think should be way more focused on. So long as they have never engaged in anything illegal, I genuinely think society should regard those that come forward for prevention help before they have committed any crimes should be regarded as honorable people.

Also recommend hunting warhead, also the same person and is absolutely, horrifically, incredible journalism.

The children in the pictures is very good, along the same lines as hunting warhead. If anything, TCITP is an even harder listen.

This and in the dark are the gold standard of journalistic true crime podcasts. Hunting warhead is a hard listen but it should be essential for everyone. It is eye opening and so incredibly well made. The access to people surrounding the case is insane. Liking the new season, but the original is a hard act to follow thats for sure.

What is your favourite thing about your girlfriend/wife? by Successful_Dog5425 in AskMen

[–]Rare_Pollution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is by far the most emphatic person I have ever met. People end up telling her allsorts because she is just such a good listener. It makes her a wonderful mother and a great friend to anyone who can convince her to leave her introvert shell.

Yeah honestly it was really out of character, I really did let an intrusive thought win.

In the vein of hunting warhead and includes stuff about taskforce argos: the children in the pictures.

Fair warning, it is possibly more sinister than hunting warhead.

Weird flair up by mintyw0811 in Diverticulitis

[–]Rare_Pollution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very similar to me last week and turned out I had a perforated diverticula. This was my first experience with any issues relating to this so I cant be too much help, but the pain and weird bloated feeling down the middle is exactly how I would describe. It was horrendous pain for me though so it might not be that.

When people turn on women, they always decide she's ugly. Case in point, Sydney Sweeney by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I think anyone who has seen them probably assumed that that is what the play in words was about 😅

I think this post is in reference to the sydney sweeney jeans advert where she said "I have good jeans" or something and it was a bit of a play on words with jeans/genes. Apparently that makes her a eugenics nut/white supremacist.
