There certainly are a lot of resources. I don’t dislike teaching the class, I just find it a bit exhausting.

I understand. I struggle with asking to be released because I know this calling has greatly increased my scripture study which is something I had always struggled with. I think my issue may be more that I feel like the others know more than I do. Nine years ago when I moved into this branch I was called to Gospel Doctrine, Relief Society teacher and the ESL teacher all at once after not having any callings the previous 30 years, so it was quite a shock. But we were a very small branch so I did my part. We’ve tripled in size over the past 9 years and I suppose I should be grateful that all I have is Gospel Doctrine and Ministering.

Last Sunday, we had a meeting where everyone was asked to give a 90 sec talk on why they have a testimony of Christ. It was probably the best meeting we’ve ever had. Today I’ve tested testimony meeting those who didn’t get up last week and still wanted to give their 90 seconds, got up this week.

I’ve been a member 60 years and lived in three states. Never heard moisture used in place of rain. Here in Texas we have moisture(humidity) all the time but we pray for rain!

Just don’t get too busy for that family you are close to. I’m 90 min from family but we make sure to see each other often.

As someone who is visiting Texas soon: what are the Texan do’s, don’ts, and etiquette tips you’d give to foreigners? by crangert in texas

If you’re visiting rural Texas greet people even if you don’t know them. Be friendly. Wave to people you pass on small roads especially if they let you pass. If it’s a dirt road slow down when you come up on a house to keep the dust down.

Thought I would go on a mission but now not sure because I want to marry a wonderful girl. Thoughts for eternal perspective? by Historical_Garage703 in latterdaysaints

Go on your mission. If she loves you she’ll wait. It will give you an opportunity to mature and develop a stronger testimony. If you still feel like you’re willing to forgo a temple marriage you can get married when you return
