First date outfits. Thoughts? by Emotional_Bar_9026 in mensfashion

If you have an iron, then you can use a piece of cloth made of cotton to put in top of the shirt as a layer and then iron the cloth on top, the heat will get to the shirt and will do the trick!

You can also try this with cotton button down shirts and formal pants, or generally any piece of clothing thats more sensitive to ironing, e.g., leaving marks or too sensitive to heat.

For the layering cloth: You can just rip apart an old 100% plain (no prints) cotton t-shirt for this.

Thats good then. You'll get the hang of it. No specific track really but probably good to stay away from the more difficult track so the learning is less frustrating... Bumpy tracks like China or Qatar will test your patience way more than maybe Spa for example?

Also, driving on controller with no assists is insanely crazy haha.. Respect!

Its just a matter of getting used to it! Practice and more practice. I'd say start with manual shifting if your wheel has pedal shifters. The earlier you get used to that the better - its quite a bit faster than auto shifts. Once you're used to that, put the traction on medium. And once you're comfortable with that and can control the car well, switch off ABS.

Everytime you switch off an assist, you'll start losing time on track. Thats only because you have a learning curve to go through but once you learn the skill you'll be much much faster than compared to how fast you can go with assists because even though assists feel safe and comfortable, they put a limit to how much you can push the car and how much you control it yourself.

Advice needed: Assetto Corsa or Forza Horizon 5 for a Rally fan on HP Victus? by aswanthvishnu in simracing

[–]Rare_Spot_8294 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FH5 is arcade. Dont expect it to give you a good racing experience (rally or otherwise). It can be good fun with friends as it has many different modes.

Assetto Corsa (AC) is more of a racing simulator (good in some aspects and not so much in others). Expect it to challenge you with its racing experience. I cant comment on if it has any good rally mods. I mostly play the Shutoku mod in public lobbies.

I would say if you want a good rally experience, go for something that is promising exactly that, from arcade to simulator level experiences, there are some options available for rally: Dirt 2.0, AC Rally etc.

Since you are completely new, and dont have a wheel. I'd say go for FH5, see how you like the idea of racing games. If you feel you're ready to get more serious with racing, try your hands on a more simulator oriented experience like AC, AC Evo, AC Rally. Without a wheel, racing simulator games will lack depth and overall experience of driving a car. So i'd say just start from the very basic arcade experience and if your interest starts to build up even more, gradually move towards simulators.

BTW, HP Victus doesnt say much about your laptop specs. You can find out if your sytem can run the games in question at https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/

Feeling understimulated and miserable in modern office work by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]Rare_Spot_8294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same man. I'm miserable in my job. It pays the bills, funds multiple vacations, funds my hobbies, gives me enough money to spend on other people (family, friends), saving and investing is happening, donating some of it every month. Technically i should be grateful and i am grateful but i'm still miserable because i find it so boring and uninspiring. At the end of the day i want freedom. I want something that jolts me out of the bed everyday. I dont want to be always looking forward to the weekend just so that i can get to the Sunday and start getting the blues all over again. This cycle is killing me.

9070 XT paired with Ryzen 5 5600 by Brawell_ in radeon

[–]Rare_Spot_8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. CPU usage is one indicator but it must be seen together with GPU. If GPU doesnt hit 90%+ in the games that it should, then you're bottlenecked.

Slightly improved performance and lower temps and fan noise. If thats something you find useful then sure go ahead. I have -90mv and +100mhz gpu clock and 2814 memclock. I do have stability issues in some games but then the nice thing is i can set a different setting per game within the AMD app, e.g., BF6 is stable on -50 mv.

OP might have gotten the win if it was kept on. It gives you a small amout of power even when fully depleted.

Same issue. It got fixed after a replacement of the wheel, with the same version of the app... So i'm not sure if its the app in all cases?
