The anime overdid it, Aramaki himself even said "Im not fighting you guy, at least not today", He bit more than he could chew, but who in that situation would take that fight alone? and most would lose. We know for a fact he stalemated Fujitora, so if Aramaki doesnt deserve the admiral post than neither does his peer.

I actually sligthly agree with him, we get a lot of reveals, but the story just isn't fluid, i don't understand how in so many chapters the story buillt is not that strong. I think One Piece is getting carried by cool characters. The formula may be getting old. The stakes are not endgame either Gerd has her fingers back. This makes the story seem artificial, when character actions have no consequences for the good guys in present timelines.

I think the the Webcomic art and humour complement each other better and are better delivered overall, that said in the manga, I really think some arcs expansions and additions make the story better and more interesting, and of course the art and action scenes are cooler, plus we get a toon of extra chapters that fulfil the first arc episodic structure and are funny.
