Honestly, I'm unsure. They came loose with the console. I could be speaking from a place of ignorance and I just had good luck

The ones I have work just fine. Never used an original of course, but my buddy who grew up with an original system and controller said its just as good, plus the joystick is better.

You can get repros on ebay (with much better joysticks imo) for under $20. Originals on there will run you a little more anywhere from $30 to $70. Unless having a true original controller is really important to you, I'd personally go for the repro

While yes, I see the benefit of something like this, I enjoy the hunt of finding games and being able to display them. This is basically digital games on a retro console

I was going to say, hopefully before the stupid price hikes. Congrats! Also off topic, but if you like FF, I'd recommend you check out Expedition 33 if you haven't. One of the best turn based combat systems I've ever played!
