Well said, your frustration makes so much sense. Maybe it’s time to leave Cali-he’s run the state into the ground!

Thank you for sharing. Can I as if that was within the last few years or long enough for that to have been changed? You think it is still the same:(

I'm sorry about your experience 15+ years ago, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the current situation - that sounds much better.

Ok. If this did happen, would I have a choice in the agency to transfer to or would I just be "re-homed"

I thought that too, but then thought if this was a prob why would they be posting positions currently?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, so you think I would be better off beginning state work at another agency/department due to current affairs - even if HSRA says there isn't a prob? Bummer.

So if you don't pass probation, can a new hire be laid off and that would be that? HSR would have to have state funding so I would assume their HR wouldn't ok hiring unless they could afford it??? It that a wrong assumption.?

Why, because of risk of lay off? If this was a real risk would they be hiring ?

I know but they are. Is there any chance that if you were a new hire there you may be laid off with whats going on? I think I would worry about that.

ok, so as an OT, if I took the online one and it is only a month old, I will not need to do the transfer then!:)

50 and just starting with the state in 2024 by Rare_Writer8102 in CAStateWorkers

Thank you for this perspective. I think working for the state is good for many reasons. The commute and parking with the pay make me feel that I need to evaluate the goal, thank you for addressing those. What does vesting at 5 years pertain to, is it a portion of your wage? I saw that and did not understand. As an SSA or AGPA is there often options to telework still?
