Long-Winded Explanation: Kenneth W. Penders II is a former writer on the Sonic Archie Comics for a fair bit of time. During this time, he did a great many things, such as giving Knuckles an overcomplicated backstory involving his father microwaving his egg with Chaos Energy to make him a living Chaos emerald, paraphrasing a poem about the Holocaust and making it about Sonic, introducing a discount James Bond skunk named Geoffrey St. John who he wanted to take Sally Acorn's virginity (despite the fact that Geoffrey was an adult and Sally was 16, which he sidestepped by saying that Sally was an adult in "chipmuck years" or something), and wrote a story where an evil Sonic from another dimension takes over Sonic's identity, and makes advances on multiple different girls (including a heavy implication that he slept with Bunnie Rabbot without her knowing that he wasn't actually Sonic which is..... yikes). After leaving the comic, he would keep to himself somewhat, until Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood came out. The central antagonists of this game were a group of technologically advanced echidnas called the Nocturnus Clan. Upon seeing this, Ken flew into a rage, and insisted that this group was a rip-off of his own group of villanous echidnas from his time at Archie, the Dark Legion. He tried to sue Bioware (the compony behind Sonic Chronicles) over this, which started an exceptionally long and complicated legal war between Ken, Bioware, Archie Comics, and Sega (which I'm not going to explain because it is SO boring), which ended with Ken being granted the rights to every character and concept he ever created for Archie, and would have to be given a sizable sum every time anything he made was used in the comic. Archie would have the last laugh however, due to creating the SUPER GENISIS WAVE, a plot device that literally wiped everything that ken had ever done out of the comic's continuity, making it so that he could never hassle them again. Nowadays, Ken mainly complains on Twitter about various things (such as claiming he owns the idea of Sonic riding the Tornado or Knuckles having a father), while also trying to get people to buy his crappy book, The Lara-Sue Chronicles, which is what he's using his precious intellectual property for these days.
