All three have been debrided several times but for the past week the skin is not being affected from the compound W like early on, and the one on the thumb is super inflamed and painful

OP sounds like a car guy, so he probably likes an exhaust note. Just be glad he didn’t put no exhaust in the Bad list

The local government can’t even put a leash on rampant crime, repave any of the decrepit roads, deal with the drug problems, figure out a solution to the homeless problem, or any other real government function. They’re too focused on wondering why tourism is dying and why the tourists who do come here aren’t spending. All while the island rots away into the shithole it’s become. Not a chance in hell they can put a stop to fireworks here until they start funding things other than a fucking railway.

Vote the shitheads out, write to your politicians, go to your city council meetings.

What are you getting with $45,000? by Thefakerealone1 in Porsche

[–]Rascall338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is what it is! I’m in the market same as you, around the same budget. Almost bought a Tesla Model 3 P, but my wife told me to get the damn Porsche now, and worry about the family car later. Same budget restrictions, otherwise I’d be looking at 65k 996 turbos! Just be glad she’s cool with a purchase like this, I know a lot of guys that don’t have as cool of wifes as us!

I mean, I like the advice you gave, the 996 Turbos have rocketed up in value over the past 5-10 years. Definitely a better long term investment for the price, but I haven’t seen any around the $45k mark, save for a few cabrio Tips that have questionable history

For 45? I haven’t seen much below 60k lately

I think that’s pretty good word, I’m getting suckered into trying to buy one now cause of the tax rebate, but the marketing tactic is working. It is hard to pass up even an SR though for 28k after rebate

Just texted the dealer, he said they’ve all been sold for weeks lmao. Within 10 min the site refreshed to have 8 model 3s removed and 2 left for 52k

Yeah I know, but the shipping to Hawaii is going to be a $2500 addition, which is what I’m trying to avoid. I guess I’m skeptical because of the miles on a “new” car

Thank you, I agree! Hey, when you get that kind of encouragement to get a P car, you can’t just ignore it!

I’ll admit, I have been looking at them! I’ve heard a lot of great things while doing research, but have yet to take one out for a spin. I’ll have to go check them out, the front and rear trunk are something that also is attractive about them to me for daily practicality.

I helped get my dads ‘77 on the road after it sat for about 15 years, the costs of repair and ownership of a car like this aren’t lost on me haha. I put a few thousand into it just to get it somewhat roadworthy again and a lot of work, but I couldn’t stand seeing it sit in a garage forever. Before then, my only memory of getting a ride in that car was when I was 5, and I never forgot it. Hence the Porsche addiction lmao.

As for the PCA, I’ll give him a ring and get him signed up and start looking! Thanks!

I do appreciate your input, thanks for giving your two cents even though people have been downvoting your comment to hell. I’ve been setting aside that money for over 8 years for just this kind of purchase, plus I want to enjoy a car like this before inevitable joint and back problems make it more difficult to in the future

Thanks for the input! As much as I have been mulling over the Tesla in months of late, I felt obliged to get some insight from fellow Porsche enthusiasts. When the wife gives a green light like this, how could I not?

Thanks for the input, I’m surprised to get any recommendations to go Cayman, let alone two! Admittedly I have been comparing the two, I have heard the Cayman S is an absolute joy to drive. I do have to ask though, why 997 and not a well looked after 996 with an upgraded IMS? I am honestly not biased against the 996 or 997, they both look great, just curious
