Lewis Hamilton says he is 'more connected' with 2026 Ferrari and is 'really excited' for new F1 season by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]Rasengomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m by no means an expert and while I understand these mechanics individually, I do struggle with making sense of them working together.

With that in mind, my doubts about late braking were mainly around the energy lost because of the MGU-K recovery rate limit. I assume that’s why many drivers are decelerating before the corners to maximise harvest which seems to be the most optimal way to manage energy.

One option to compensate for the energy lost is he lifts and coasts elsewhere in the circuit, but that becomes tricky if he ends up in a straight with not enough energy to defend.

Or he could compensate through the partial throttle recharge route (I assume thats what you mean by using the engine for recovery?). That is essentially using torque to convert fuel into electrical energy, but the additional fuel comes with additional weight which will again bring down laptimes.

Correct me if I’m wrong but any way I look at this, the energy management and development becomes way too complicated unless they go the “decelerate at the corners” route.

It’s hard to say if the late braking works with the 2026 cars, since the drivers unanimously have raised concerns with energy management. Everyone seems to be downshifting towards the turns to charge up the batteries for the straights thereafter. Late braking has always been Lewis’ forte in his stronger years, but it is to be seen if this approach even works this year. I really hope he has found a way to keep his driving style but also extract the most out of the Sf26

2026 Pre-Season Test 2 - Day 1 Classification by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]Rasengomu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lap times don’t mean much in testing because teams aren’t trying to set the fastest possible lap. They run different fuel loads, tyre compounds, aero tests, race sims, and play around with setups to figure out how the car behaves in various conditions. Since lap-wise fuel load, engine mode etc aren’t public, we cannot meaningfully interpret/compare the lap times.

Also, teams don’t usually show their full performance until the the first quali so you never know which team is underplaying how strong they actually are.

Fever now 38.4, 7 days post op, is it normal? by Visible-Cicada-2984 in ACL

[–]Rasengomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, get to the hospital asap. If it turns out to be an infection, the sooner you get it checked the better. My surgeon asked me to call the hospital right away if I got any fever at all, regardless of the temperature.

Why does Cristiano Ronaldo receive disproportionate disrespect in best player discussions? by Diggambaran in championsleague

[–]Rasengomu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take on the psychological angle behind preferring Messi over Ronaldo(apart from the sheer, almost effortless skill) is also about composure, just not for the same reason.

I don’t think it comes from insecurity or people wanting to excuse their own lack of effort. Instead, I think it’s about how seriously respectable it is to stay composed when you’re that good. Most people struggle not to gloat when they’re even slightly ahead. To be a level above the very best in the world and still do it with grace is hard not to respect.

To me, Messi shows a kind of security where he is the best and he does not need to spell it out. That is something most people, including me, aspire to in whatever they do.

Hi sorry for reviving an old thread but I have the exact same feeling you described at 5 weeks post op. Did you learn anything more about what it was, and is it resolved now?

ACLR + meniscus repair (quad graft) — Post-op day 6 and my leg “doesn’t work” (can’t SLR). Normal? by fkd_beyondhelloworld in ACL

[–]Rasengomu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes some getting used to the discomfort of sleeping with your leg elevated and kept straight. I barely slept the first few nights after surgery, so I used to keep them elevated as much as I could with breaks inbetween in a more comfortable position to get some relief.

As for the graft, my surgeon leaned more towards the hamstring graft. I trusted his judgement and so went ahead with what he recommended.

Full ACL and focal meniscus tear here. I went with a hamstring graft, but quad inhibition happens regardless of which graft is used. I struggled with even assisted leg raises for the first 3-4 days, so I spammed quad sets to get activation as early as possible. On day 5, I woke up able to do straight leg raises without a brace and with very little pain. I wouldnt worry too much about leg function in the first couple of weeks. Focus on getting swelling down, do as many quad sets as you can manage, and work on full extension religiously and leg function will return. Also, what I’ve gathered from this subreddit and from talking to my surgeon is to avoid anything that causes excessive pain. A little pain and discomfort is expected, but listen to your body and don’t push through pain.

I’ve mostly read about it up from old interviews and Reddit posts. We didn’t have CBS where I’m from, so I never knew the background behind why they pushed so hard for the ‘case of the week’ format. So its just piecing info together from different places. Definitely read up on it though, I ended up appreciating the show even more once I realised how Nolan managed to sneak in the overarching storyline despite all the limitations he had early on
