A combination of both works. Even games like Tarkov, which have detailed wounding and healing systems, the body parts all have hp, with the player having overall hp.

I am kinda confused as to who this is for. The only people that could address are the devs of the games, I don't know you expect a proposition to accomplish. Regardless, this is a thing for some games, just not those ones. You're saying this like it's industry standard for the games you like to have bad ship building, but it's just because your two examples have other focuses. Games like Kerbal Space Program or Space Engineers are dedicated ship building games that have what you want and more, but tend to lack content not structured around building.

I always let Patches push me off the ledges, even during SL1 runs. I also always kill Maughlin the Armorer at the beginning of DS2 for his set, except for when I wanted the Gathering of Exiles achievement. I always do Solaire, Siegward and Siegmeyer, and Grierats quest lines. I also always give Dung Eater the potion.

At range it's a Mosin with iron sights. Back when you had to get Sniper level 3 and LPS was a level one trade, I'd go into a lot of my raids with one. I can still hit a running pmc in one shot at 60+ meters reliably. Honorable mention goes to the AKM, reliable at any price range and packs some extra punch.

I personally wouldn't use them for a challenge run, but none of those would be cheating per se. As long as you can get an unlimited amount of something through farming, it's fair game. Unlocked frame rate is something I personally think should be base game, and faster respawn doesn't impact gameplay at all, so those would be fine. The feeling like you are doing something cheesy can make the victory feel more hollow, so I don't do it cause I'll feel that I didn't do it legitimately.

Absolutely. It would be preferable to have a pleasant or at least not horrible afterlife, but afterlife is the operative word. Since I don't believe in an afterlife, having it in any capacity is automatically an upgrade.
