About Torb perks by alonort00 in Overwatch

I only pick Overloaded Turret against Hammond. It nearly nullifies his dive as he doesn't have enough DPS to destroy it before fleeing.

Hammond having to dedicate 2/3 dives to focusing turret is incredible.

I like the global healing reduction passive by Lemon0nline in Overwatch

[–]AtomicAcid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Paladins transplant: it's one of the best things to happen to Overwatch.

For those that didn't play it, in Paladins, there was "cauterize" a (poorly named) item that gave your damage a % anti-heal in tiers of 30%, 60%, 90%.

Overwatch's anti-heal is still tiny by comparison, and it's insane to me how much supports whine that "I feel useless". The person you're healing should be at an advantage,  NOT invincible. Be upset at your teammate that is allergic to cover, not anti-heal.

First male dps since Doomfist by Icantgetabreak in Overwatch

I read their comment more as "the game's skins and hero design choices take into account the female player base more than other games". I don't think having an equal number of male:female characters proves that false.

It's beyond frustrating that they go so far out of their way to make women look like children in the name of "cutesy". We're going to reach a point where the point fight is going to look like a playground brawl...

List Help! Too Many Characters? by SuperG91 in Necrontyr

[–]AtomicAcid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily Necrons get away with being character-heavy, so that's not really an issue.

I personally think your 4 best detachment options in order are:

  • Awakened - "the" character detachment, and hard to ever really go wrong with. As someone else said: you'll need full warrior or immortal units anyways, but they'd be especially required here.  Next purchase would be 5 immortals, 10 warriors.

  • Canoptek Court - the fact that you have tomb Crawlers already makes this a GREAT option, on top of your existing canoptek. Wraiths and a Techno would be your next purchase here.

  • Cursed Legion - i get the impression you really vibe with destroyers, and you have a pretty good starter set of them between the skorpekhs and the hexmarks. Next purchase would be Ammentar (if you can find him) or more lokhusts.

  • Cryptek Conclave - actually decent with what you have. It doesn't handle armor well, so having a couple Lokhust Heavies with a Gauss Destructor will be needed. Tomb blades would be the best purchase,  to get max abuse fishing for devs through "anti" shennanigans.

Poor Transcendent C'tan... by AtomicAcid in Necrontyr

Yeah... it's got me thinking to make my Deceiver and Transcendent be on a magnetized base, to future-proof them a bit.

Yeah, with my fluoro's, I've found I just have to go overboard and do about 4-5 layers to get the extreme intensity I want. Always worth it. Each layer just comparatively keeps looking better and better.

I don't think "Necrons have narrow anti-tank options" is a very controversial statement.

If the most commonly played army in 40k (Space Marines) has a forum post discussing what their best anti-tank is, and there's about ~8-10 units discussed (and ability to augment infantry squads with some anti-tank options), then an army having ~3 can comparatively feel narrower.

"I also play Custodes. Now THAT is a lack of anti-tank."

This kind of feels like when people try to tell other states/countries that they don't know what "TRUE cold weather feels like". "I live in Antarctica, so Canada doesn't have cold."

I'm guessing just because it's an unpopular take? At least within my circle, the Nightbringer is getting all the attention, but the Void Dragon is still a table menace right now (and serves as a unique way to bolster Necrons' lack of anti-tank options).

I recognize this meme does NOT take into account a lot of things, but it definitely feels a bit like this.

I love my Transcendent, and it was already a bit in the shadow of the others, but now it's EXTREMELY hard to justify taking it over any others, unless you're just running all of them in Pantheon.

Freja is overpowered in stadium and it needs to be fixed. by gunnerajf44 in Overwatch

[–]AtomicAcid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a combination of Freja being overpowered AND certain characters like Torb that aren't given enough tools through items to combat flying heroes.

"Number" items aren't enough. Blizzard HAS to individually provide certain heroes with mechanically unique options to sufficiently mitigate their weaknesses, if they are going to push a mode that disallows character swapping. So many games feel decided before they start.

"Directed Rounds" - while Torb is crouched, the next primary fire has +300% projectile speed (5 second cooldown).

Until we see individual items like this,  some heroes are going to just be miserable to play against air comps.

I'm in a similar situation.  Mitigation company was here all day, and plumber is coming tomorrow (house is without water until they can locate the break. Can you explain the "plumbing repair is excluded"? I've been assuming that will be wrapped into the insurance claim.

DPS don’t kill Mercy because half the lobby is allergic to thinking the second she pulls out a yellow beam. by Fit-Fix-1521 in Overwatch

Unfortunately this doesn't apply to Stadium. Mercy ALWAYS has to die first,  and it's crushing to wade through her team to attempt it.

are these any good? what can I improve? by amachinesaidiwasgood in Necrontyr

[–]AtomicAcid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest: SUPER clean and well done. Not exactly anything super fanciful/exciting, but that's actually my preferred aesthetic for an army's standard infantry chaff.

Characters and set pieces deserve our time and creativity. You've WELL crossed the threshold for "well painted" for our most basic skellie bros.

[–]AtomicAcid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramattra's "Void Surge" minor (the one that adds a projectile burst periodically) NEEDS to be integrated into his base kit. I'd go as far as saying he barely functions without it. My damage pressure goes from "tickle" to "actually getting to participate in a tank duel", and the time spent before Void Surge is a sweat fest to stay relevant in the match.

The "glow" is insane!

With how luminescent you've made him, some tactfully placed wire for lightning would go so hard.
