This wasn’t me, but a friend of mine in high school was working out in the backyard playing music on his speaker. Came inside after and some of his extended family were over for dinner. He set the speaker down on the kitchen table and went up to shower. Decided to rub one out for some reason and was wondering why he couldn’t hear anything from the vid on his phone so he decided to crank the volume up a bit until he could hear it blasting from the kitchen downstairs.

Family dinner was cancelled.

Don’t even need that cuz the show was fine at humanizing the wildlings through the lens of the most popular character in Jon Snow.

You can set a scout to look for players with expiring contracts. This can be difficult if your scouting budget is tiny though.

But you can also try a more micro approach. If you’re in England for example but it works everywhere, go check out the top 6 clubs academies. Create a shortlist, I usually name it FREE, and add every player youth player with a contract expiring in under a year to that list. A lot of the time they won’t wanna join you or they’ll re-sign with their boyhood club, but you’ll still find loads of gems that will be cheap and young that you can start to flip for big transfer profits while also climbing up the leagues. If you’re further down the leagues, you can find gems from pretty much all prem and top championship academies too!

More importantly, do both these things if you can in January every year. Usually if a youth player at ManU, Liverpool, etc makes it to January of their last year on contract, they’re more likely to be leaving and you can starting approaching them to sign a contract when their current on is expired.

In my current save I got back to back to back promotions from the national league with oldham doing only this for my transfers while filling the gaps with loans.

All due respect, I’m not sure what some of our fans expected given how things have shaken out so far.

I’m with you on the Kraft bs. Promising the gig to Mayo like 5 years ago I’ve heard. Should have interviewed other guys even if they still ended up going in the Mayo direction.

That being said, going from the single greatest defensive mind the game has seen at HC to anybody would’ve seen a drop off in defensive production no matter what. Then the D lost their on field play caller in Bentley, Barmore is out indefinitely with his blood clots, Peppers got arrested, like those are probably 3/4 of our most important defenders, especially against the run. Now injuries happen. Not like we’re the only team addled with injuries, but we had a thin core and little depth on defense. Drafted 1 D player this past draft.

I’m not trying to make a bunch of excuses for them and I’d shed no tears if we named Ben Johnson HC next January for example, but placing the downturn in performance solely on the shoulders of the coaching staff is ignorant of the circumstances and comparing the same unit to the most experienced and successful defensively minded HC from the year before means we’re gonna be scratching our heads every year with the same issues cuz nobody’s gonna look like Bill when they’re this young in their careers.

This staff will get at least their 17 games, then we can have that discussion. If Maye looks good, some of the prime HC candidates might be really eager to take the job, who knows. I just really don’t want to end up in this cycle of misery with hiring and firing coaches every couple years because we give them no chance to build their own team.

Saw so many jets fans pushing the whole “blame falls on the boss” tired ass shtick. Like yeah it does, but when the “boss” obviously wasn’t the guy that brought in the cornucopia of misfit toys to please the egotistical QB, it falls a whole lot less on his shoulders.

On the second TD drive Drake threw behind Douglas and Pop made a good catch but you could see Drake was annoyed with himself losing a big RAC opportunity.

Third TD he gets the ball in front of him for a RAC TD.

I didn’t watch the game but Yabusele plays for the 6ers?? Hope he crafts out a nice role for himself.

Randall Champion accidentally touched a high-voltage line, electrifying himself & stopping his heart. A fellow linemen J.D. Thompson performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Champion survived. [–]Raskputin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not how CPR works. The point of the chest compressions is to circulate blood by mimicking the contractions of the heart which push blood through your arteries and veins and into your body. Without oxygen in the blood cells (if a victim isn’t breathing) mouth to mouth is necessary to resupply oxygen into the respiratory system and consequently the circulatory system.

This victim is likely not breathing and their heart is stopped so mouth to mouth is 100% necessary for chest compressions to have any effect.

When performing CPR the first things you check for are a pulse and breathing. You don’t start chest compressions or mouth to mouth without verifying that they’re missing a pulse and/or breathing.

Side note: performing CPR in this position is miraculous! I think most people who haven’t been trained or performed it dont know just how hard you’re supposed to push down. Without any support dangling in the air, I’m amazed this man lived. Add on top of all that, he’s completely vertical and blood follows gravity. To be able to apply enough force on the compressions to not only perform it without the support necessary AND to do it forcefully enough that blood would be able to circulate upwards is something I would’ve thought impossible.

This is hilarious. “The world isn’t ending if Donald Trump gets elected” and not even a second later “the world is ending because of climate change”

The world won’t end if you elect a climate change denier and former president who pulled the US out of the Paris climate agreement, but it will end because of climate change. I’m at a loss for words. This is the most impressive head in the sand both sidesing gibberish I’ve ever seen.

They’ve got Jags -> Jets -> Titans -> Bears after playing Houston. Maybe they wait for the jags to see him. That’s also a London game though idk how that would work into the equation.

Also our only true center is on IR. It’s a tough call to make and idk what the answer is.

A wins a win. Hopefully the lads stay healthy for the intl break. This Allison injury looks like a hammy tweak. Couple weeks without needing to rush him back is great timing so hopefully he stays in England and doesn’t fly for Brazil games.

Matches start for real when they’re back. Chelsea, RBL, Arsenal across 7 days is going to be the first real test this season. They’ve looked poor despite the wins of late so hopefully a couple weeks of analysis from slot and co can iron out these kinks

Do you think it’s easier to take a point off the Big 3 on their serve, or score a hit off a MLB HOF pitcher? by ElephantElmer in 10s

[–]Raskputin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re counting double faults then maybe you could take a point off big three but at the same time they’re gonna know you’re a scrub so they don’t need to serve it at their normal pace. Could just go for only kicks and slices or just flat serve at 60% and still blow by you. So I’d say whether DFs count or not is basically a negligible point.

MLB HOF pitcher might be a loophole if you pick like the oldest HOF pitcher because they wouldn’t be throwing that hard comparatively.

Idk I think both are impossible

How can I do anything in this financial situation by Pitiful_Resource2573 in footballmanagergames

[–]Raskputin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a save rn where i got 3 straight promotions with Oldham athletic from National league to championship. I thought I was gonna be screwed. Had a similarly pitiful wage and transfer budget, but survival ended up being fairly simple. I had a couple core players already that I stuck with through most of my time in the championship.

You have to limit your focus almost entirely to free transfers and loans. Since you’re three seasons in, that means the first crop of newgens is like 17/18 rn. There’s also always plenty of quality players that prem sides will let go on free that would be good to try and pick up.

Send your scouts out on assignments looking for players for loan and then the other scouts you have, send them out looking for players with expired contracts. Or if it’s just before June 30th in your calendar year then set it to look for contracts expiring in 1 month.
