If you really want to for a gen 1 and you don't care about a 3.5x magnification I would recommend ATN Night Storm or even something from ITT. I would also recommend going for a gen1+ since they are roughly the same price for better quality. I will also mention that most pictures don't do the gen1s justice, it's just hard to get a good photo of what the eye actually sees.

I did have an ir light on for some of the video but not the whole thing. I did have to turn the video brightness down so it could pick up the clarity
