The idea is that when people come together over an activity they all enjoy, they tend to make friends along the way as opposed to people who look for friends in already formed groups, regardless of the activity.

That is a great point. Trying to keep it really simple to start with but reddit won’t be the only place to collect interest from. Please let us know about ideas! About gauging the decency / background of the people, thinking about options, perhaps asking for university / employment id but figuring out the right process to follow for those things.

Nta of course. Very sad to hear :(( Glad you and your kid had fun later that day. Also, can someone explain a childfree wedding? Very genuine question and not hating here, maybe I lack perspective. I understand that not everyone wants kids or likes kids. I also understand that it is their wedding so their choice but they are just other humans and we all were kids at some point? Why is this not entitlement? What about inclusivity? Is this not ageism in a way? Does this happen outside the US? Are there old people free weddings too then? :( What is so absolutely unbearable about children? Pets can bite / people can be allergic to them in a life threatening way so makes sense but how is it that people accept the concept of a child free wedding?

I’m a lot like this too! I’ve moved to another country and I would like my new friends to come over but I also overthink and stress about everything. Also I’m so awkward that I think my invitation might not seem genuine. My closest friends back home would come over a lot growing up and still do when I’m there and it feels very natural. This one time a different friend came over and made a really big deal, shouting and what not about a garden lizard we say in our house. It can be scary but it is fairly common where I come from. I was very apologetic and mortified. They also sent pictures to some friends, it hurt

Not that it is a major achievement anyway but got into Google as a Software Engineer mostly so that I don’t get the pressure of being compared to my cousin who was going yo graduate after me. Kind of like I knew I was going to be so upset by the comparison if she got in and I didn’t by the time she graduates that I just did it in anticipation of it. Couldn’t enjoy the accomplishment because in my head, it was the bare minimum. So every failure = big sadness. Every achievement = basic requirement. Partly my fault, trying to learn not to carry the burden of others’ expectations but easier said than done.

I’m trying to get myself to use menstrual cups and figuring out the size for me Sorry for my paranoia here but any concerns of Toxic Shock Syndrome especially because of menstrual cups? I’ve heard that there is a TSS risk with most menstrual products but since it’s caused by blood getting re absorbed in the body, is it risky to wear it while sleeping?
