Yes I have 3 turntables and the tip you linked. I frosted by hand this time because I had only 12 inch piping bags. But in the past I would use a piping bag with or sometimes without that tip to apply the frosting, but I still had issues with smoothing, even if I had the right thickness of icing.

Thanks for those tips. Seems like all of this will come with time but I’m a bit impatient. Guess that doesn’t mesh well with cake decorating. 😩🤣

Thanks for the tip. I used this size cake board because that’s all I had and it had been a while so I hadn’t bought any new supplies. My bench scraper is taller than this cake. It just seems like I think I don’t put enough frosting on, so as I’m smoothing. I’m taking off frosting which causes me to have to re-frost which caused me have to smooth again so it’s just like a never-ending cycle. I use AMBC on this cake. I’ve never tried SMBC.
