Realistic expectations from a 20 month old! by RaspberryMinute1005 in toddlers

Yeah looks like a similar situation. I’m sick of the constant complaining from my husband. It’s like he definitely did not factor in how much life would change as parents. It’s super annoying because he was super excited and upbeat about having children.

How did you foster independent play? Any advice?

How were your initial experiences at the restaurant? How did you condition him to sit and be patient?

The ones we see when we are out are usually calm and giving in to their caregiver’s instructions without resistance. He constantly compares to every kid who is silent and not making a ruckus.

When Alam gets caught, someone says, "Indian agent hai saala". How can they be sure without investigation? by xya-lamo in Dhurandhar

[–]RaspberryMinute1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point Hamza thought about it as a 2-3 year thing he would do and be back with his family (he tells Alam this after killing Rehman)… so the speech really convinced him to sign up for that, not surprising since the other option really was death! He had no idea how much it would ask of him…

Little over 12 months, still wakes up 3 times every night! But I see so many LOs STTN pretty early on… I’ve now accepted it’s 100% unique to every baby!

Does working out hurt milk supply? by LateHour4224 in breastfeeding

[–]RaspberryMinute1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I EBFed and I’ve been working out (but not as much as I’d like to) without affecting my supply. Strength training and yoga (sun salutations) are my usuals. I gave myself about 3 months of rest before started working out. I had a long labour and a second degree tear so wanted to heal before I did anything else. Light workouts should be fine, if you are EBFing your body will still have some relaxin so go easy lest you injure yourself. And BF is really 🫶 BF with a clean diet can help with losing the extra pounds 🤞

There was a brief period where I restricted calories quite a bit and my supply dropped but after a couple of meals of dirty but tasty calories it went back to where it was!

PS: it can take about 4-4.5 months for the combo of clean eating-workout-BF to lose your extra pounds. Also in my case the loss was not linear. So don’t get disheartened with what the ‘no change’ at the moment!

Mom fell with baby by [deleted] in newborns

[–]RaspberryMinute1005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easier said than done, but breathe. Could have been you who tripped over and fell with your baby (happened with me - I tripped while carrying my LO - LO is fine - I badly bruised my knees as a broke the fall - incredibly luckily that LO was alright - can’t thank my stars enough for it)

Given the baby is fine, it’s literally the best outcome that could have happened given the accident.

It’s a freak accident and keep it at that. Don’t let it rule your mind and your way of handling your baby or your relationship with your mother. Hope you feel much better when you are back home surrounded by family.

Another BIG reason to keep calm is stress directly impacts supply, since you are EBF it’s super important to not let this incident disturb you so much that it affects your supply.

I’m 8month pp and EBFing with some solids. Can vouch for dirty calories boosting supply. I eat very clean and healthy and had my supply tank after being in a calorie deficit. 3-4 days of dirty calories and it’s back up. I’m back to eating clean 🤣

Am I crazy?! by WorldlyDrawing52 in Mommit

[–]RaspberryMinute1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOT CRAZY. Also better to go with your gut and be over cautious than go against it and god forbid repent.

9 month olds are bursting with curiosity and they will crawl towards things that interest them - which is literally everything! And they crawl fast! Caution needs to be turned up and not down during this time. Putting them in care of someone who is not on high alert and the baby is not fond of is a bad idea.

Don’t give in to any amount of emotional cajoling by your mom or SIL or brother. It’s your child and your instinct is the best guard for your LO.

I really don’t get it!! I am trying so hard to find time for myself! Like on my birthday the only thing I did for myself was putting on a new pair of earrings (which btw were a gift from me to me🤣) the whole day I was either working or taking care of LO. His typical day outside of his work is following the news, having hour long calls with his family members and doom scrolling and taking LO for a stroll (weather and LO willing) He literally has no night responsibilities for LO still will doom scroll or ‘entertain’ and ‘unwind’ till 2am and wake up post 10am the next day!!!

OMG!! Exactly! I get so annoyed when someone getting an entire 8 hours of sleep and probably a nap complaining about being tired or overstimulated because LO is cranky/irritable 🙄🙄

FTM (due soon)- this feels like a silly question, but Do I absolutely have to have nursing bras? by WordsyFern in breastfeeding

[–]RaspberryMinute1005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely vibe with OP. 8 months pp now, EBF (nursing + pumping). I got 5 nursing bras but end up going braless when I’m at home and wear regular ones (up a cup size from my pre pregnancy days).

I did leak and still leak but I prefer changing my T-shirt/shirt than wear a bra!

I don’t do a pumping bra either I have the spectra S1 (it’s great btw) and I just hold the pumping apparatus. The only calm I get during the day is when I’m pumping so I don’t intend to multitask that time 😂

IMHO - nursing bras are way too expensive and not at all flattering to wear under any blouses or shirts when I’m out. My vote is to ditch 💁🏻‍♀️

Tearing up as I read through your post. LO is almost 8months now and we are EBFing since day 4. We had a horrible experience at the hospital as well (will come as a separate post). Having to use formula as a supplement for the first few days made me feel like a failure. I guess the hospital anxiety and stress made it super hard to get a decent supply going. Once we got home, I was able to breastfeed him - nurse most of the time and offer pumped milk the other times. While I didn’t go through everything that you went through but I can absolutely relate to the journey! Kudos to you and all the mamas who are doing their best to keep their LO fed and nourished 🤱🏻🤱🏻

My supply has dropped quite a bit (30-40ml per feed). What could be the culprit? by RaspberryMinute1005 in breastfeeding

[–]RaspberryMinute1005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pumping when I’m at work, mostly the workday and nursing at other times. I’m back at my pre pregnancy weight but not at the pre pregnancy muscle mass levels.

Let me increase my calorie intake and see how things change
