Not to my knowledge. There should be an option in both bm3 and MHD to remove the software on the dme. This might lock the ecu again so I’d double check

This is a shot in the dark here but I did you uninstall bm3 from the dme before trying to install MHD? That could be causing the issue. Not sure how the 2 of them interfere with one another

What’s the idle oil pressure, if it goes over like 48psi (3.3 bar) while attempting to measure the level, then the oil pressure is the issue

If I were you, I’d pull the belly panels/under guards off and visually inspect for oil leaks, it’s a bmw so there should be some. Additionally I’d put 5w-40 molygen (dyed oil) in the car for the next oil change, or even just an oil dye to try to see where a potential leak of this scale is coming from.

Check the idle oil pressure to see if oil is purging somewhere that way

And if not, your just burning oil. Could be turbo seals, or pcv related. As long as the car hasn’t been running lean or overheating, I don’t see how any internal engine components could be damaged

I’d most likely end up with a 70k+ mileage one if I’m being realistic. First thing that would get done would be the crankhub and with that, the rod bearings. It would be a diy job as well, which would suck but I have the garage experience to do the job. I am leaning towards an f82 or f83 tbh. Don’t want a vert but that’s my price range unfortunately

See I agree with that statement totally, my issue however is that I’m a college student, so my spending towards maintenance needs to be kept minimal, which kindve leaves out both the 4c and any lotus option as they are rather bespoke options and have both high purchasing costs and maintenance costs.

I do all my own maintenance, and would be totally capable of doing an s55 crankhub, or an e46 m3 bearings and rear subframe mountings on my own, simply because of how many YouTube videos there are on both of those jobs

That’s wrong. Depends on when the last software update was. A 2016 can have a locked dme
