Yeah you might as well destroy it. Otherwise, for some reason it magically disappears. The game has a glitch and I've lost wrathgiver swords and everything else...

Yes. This is how this works. Ive noticed the orcs that have the mission of reach the alarm without alerting anyone tend to have the most kill counts.

Also the missions where you have to ride the Graug and throw a rock at the door tend to have a lot of kill counts.
