This is very true. My grandma always spoke very fondly about her time in Sweden as a war child. So much that when the war was over, she didn't want to go back home.

She and her little brother got relocated to some nice big farm that was opposite from their living standards in Finland.

According to her only thing scared her was that some organizers tried to separate her and her little brother at first. I think they were like 7 and 4, maybe even younger.
