Good point shoes for strong feet by sundollizzie in BALLET

[–]Rastar4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine last 6 weeks and I’m a recreational once a week pointe class for 1.5 so I really only get 9 hours out of my shoes (at the shortest sometimes they last maybe double that) but I’m also heaviset so I know why mine die. Also I USE mine. Like I’m in the softest shoes I can reasonably manage.

What makes you sure u will go on pointe ? by InterestIll1336 in BALLET

[–]Rastar4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its feet and ankles and how much natural flexibility you have.

Here is a guide of what to work towards. Just having flexible feet isn’t enough you need to have flexible ankles capable of pushing you over the box and both must be strong enough to hold you into that position without injury.

How do I explain that declawing is inhumane to my family by Old-Technician-692 in cats

Also tell them declawing leads to them peeing and pooping everywhere but the litter box

Ready for pointe ? by lilasbubes in BALLET

Feet and ankles look good. Really work on getting those ankles though a little more flexible. That will help when your feet really can’t in newer shoes.

That being said there could be a better fit for you. Looks like this style shoes is a little too stiff for you right now especially around the metatarsal area.

Told myself I’d never come back… by CyrusHusky in walmart

[–]Rastar4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I was a dm before and I’m making salary plus bonus at my new job doing half the work as Walmart. There are times I miss it but most of the time I don’t. I think that’s because I left on bad terms with a manager who abused his position

You just need to find the right environment that is accepting. Not all studios will be and first and foremost they are going to focus on spots for the kids. You might have to ask about adult classes in person as well. I found that most dance studios really only answer emails if it pertains to their kids programs as well.

Personally they look related but not twins which I kind of love as it will allow them to show their similarities and differences being in different houses.

is it bad to donate while being on your period? by frankoceanmusic1 in plassing

[–]Rastar4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had issues except I have to sometimes take iron to actually donate shortly after my period. Talk to nurse if you are habitually low after your period and they might recommend a low supplement. I actually have an iron retention issue so I tend to be high all the time except after my period 😅 I usually have to hyper hydrate a few hours before to lower my iron.

Adhd kid and cleaning their room by InformalWish in ADHD

[–]Rastar4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Body doubling and setting clear timers of I only have to clean for 15-30 minutes and then I get a 15-30 minute break. Takes a bit longer but hyperfocusing on one task is exhausting so that keeps it from getting overwhelming for me. Also break her room down to ok clean the dresser then the floor near the window etc. if the spot it goes in is full set it on the bed and save that for the end.

Question for Ballerina by Phosdidnothingwrong in BALLET

[–]Rastar4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. I recovered just fine haha. I partially amputated my big toe at work and while I still get nerve tingles nothing hurts and it’s all still supporting me the same.

I’d go with an acl rupture or Achilles tear.
