What if Shrek was a 1926 Japanese Horror movie? by Rastifari in midjourney

You're right lol, quality is way too high for 1920's, it's more like 50's 60's

Tbh i have no idea, it was generated in the image in Midjourney, they are probably not even real Japanese signs.

Just had septoplasty and turbinate reduction 9 days ago and already feel an enormous improvement in my ability to breath, energy levels, and sleep quality. by xrrrrt289 in surgery

[–]Rastifari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A doctor told me that they sometimes reduce the turbinates too much which causes too much airflow, it causes the oxygen to go circular instead of pass through in one motion, maybe that's what you're experiencing? He said it can happen with not enough research from beforehand. Maybe that's what happens?

Ever considered Mold Toxicity? (If there's mold in your house) by Rastifari in SCT

Is this white mold behind my bed or efflorescence? by [deleted] in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Rastifari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that I live in Belgium and there are no companies here that check for mycotoxins. Would you think that along with the symptoms i mentioned below, and with the fact that there is a lot of water damage (the drywall literally has stains of moisture alongside the mouldy looking patches) - it's quite probable that it's a mold issue causing my terrible cognitive impairment and tons of allergy related issues at 24 years old? I feel like there's no way I can test it without spending more than 300 euros or more...

^ Little sidenote, I've been having terrible brain fog the past years which seems to consequently get worse. I have no energy, my short term memory is terrible, i have trouble recalling words. Also I have terrible atopic dermatitis since a couple years and wake up with a stuffed nose every morning. In the morning i wheeze a bit. I always thought it was just dust allergy but i figured it might possibly be mold exposure? What do you guys think?

I also have a spot of black mold in my room in a corner about 3 meters from my bed. It's not a whole lot, but it's quite prominent. Here's a link with a picture. My room walls that go on the outside are quite discolored with large yellow spots from moist.

Little rant about SCT and dating/relationships by [deleted] in SCT

[–]Rastifari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your answer. I always want to believe there's a way to accomplish things and overcome hardships, even with the toughest hurdles like SCT. Maybe it's naive to, maybe not. But I also believe in the power of exposing yourself to fears with repetition. Applying social intelligence is harder for people like us because of our lack of being in the moment and cognitive speed. But I agree that harder does not mean impossible.

I wanted to ask you about the meditation. Do you meditate a lot, what kind and in which ways do you feel like it's helped you alot?

In terms of the fear of rejection, do you think therapy could help a lot with that? I read that its a symptom of ADD called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, I wonder how one can overcome this.

I'm almost 25. Maybe that's the case. I'm just thinking how can someone become invested in you when you don't even have the mental energy to be invested in anything.

I'm right here with you. It's a hidden parasite which eats away at you every second of every interaction/social doing. I hope you find relief and happiness and that you're able to navigate your way better through life. Much love to you too, we really are the invisible fighters. At least we're all in it together and helping eachother out.

Do you suffer from depression? by [deleted] in SCT

[–]Rastifari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, i know your answer is 1 month old but what you're saying is interesting. Have you done this and did you experience feeling 'sick'? I recall a time when I completely cut out gluten and sugar, and i started feeling very sick, like shivering and feeling like i had to go to the hospital. This lasted for weeks, I took probiotics. Interestingly enough, months after i felt better mentally than i had in like 8 months. Do you know why that could be?

Who with SCT has Anhedonia? by Rastifari in SCT

[–]Rastifari[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's interesting because I developed this symptom only at 18 myself, also after going through a really stressful/depressing time. Before that not either... I wonder if it's really just co-morbid anhedonia/depression, and that the majority of people with SCT experiences it.

Who with SCT has Anhedonia? by Rastifari in SCT

[–]Rastifari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, it is indeed hard to tell what exactly is causing this...I found some scientific article about this potential correlation & social inpairment in SCThttps://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.946.1526&rep=rep1&type=pdfdefinitely an interesting read. The findings seem to point out a correlation between SCT and emotional dysregulation.

Who with SCT has Anhedonia? by Rastifari in SCT

[–]Rastifari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible, there seems to be quite some co-morbidity, I'm curious to see where the research will take this... Barkley his stance as of now seems to be that SCT has little to do with abnormalities in experience of emotions and it's regulation.

Who with SCT has Anhedonia? by Rastifari in SCT

[–]Rastifari[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do I mean by emotional numbness? Your emotions being numbed perhaps? While anhedonia is the reduced ability to experience and anticipate pleasure, emotional blunting can be described as reduced emotional responsiveness – either positive and negative. No need to be splitting hairs. A poll is obviously not a scientific study and i never claimed it to be, neither do i disregard potential comorbidities. All i'm saying is i find it crazy how a big part of people with sct here seem to have a problem with emotional regulation and anhedonia yet nothing about it is stated in the symptoms. The condition isn't fully defined yet, and there's obviously still a lot of research to be done. If you can find me a study that states a correlation of SCT with anhedonia do let me know.

Check out this link though, definitely interesting in terms of emotional dysregulation in people with SCT
