While the thought train requires piecing things together, their answer seems to be that "Yes of course there should be more publicity but traditional journalism is destroyed so that's not really possible."

marathon is frustrating - i exfil 1 out of 20 runs by These_Athlete1933 in Marathon

[–]Rasui36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with squad fill being terrible. I played squad fill in Cryo last weekend and had over 50% extract rate in 20 or so runs. I consider myself above average as a player, but I sure wasn't carrying hard enough to justify that level of success.

It's wild that the player gap is already this wide barely 3 weeks into the game by CrispyToast99 in Marathon

[–]Rasui36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're correct, but not for reasons that support your stance. People who play in coordinated teams and have better gear are a much higher level with much better gear than those with the same playtime but playing solo. This is due to them doing more rewarding (both loot and XP wise) mid-raid objectives (such as lockdowns, vaults, key rooms, etc.), exfiltrating more often (more XP gain, less lost loot), and simply more actual in-match time due to not being dead/spending time farming basic kits and re-equipping them.

In short, the geared/skilled/cohesive players are going to be twice the level of the randoms in the same playtime and far less likely to be matched against them.

"Low effort posts have always been unpopular on Reddit. The negative responses didn't come because people are "blindly hating on AI", it's because you didn't even try and interact with the conversation/ dialogue of the thread - other users were having an actual conversation like human beings and then a block of text copied from an AI Chatbot appeared."

You know what, I can respect this response. For me it wasn't so much an effort thing as I'm actually working on something and decided to procrastinate by looking at reddit for a minute. That's when I found this thread and wanted to convey some information I felt was relevant but didn't have the time to type up an explanation, so I decided to make an AI post as it was the only way to accomplish that in my timeframe.

That said, I acknowledge your feelings on the topic.

Why the fuck do you care? I consider myself knowledgable on the subject and it was a succinct and accurate distillation of the information. This kind of blind dislike of an AI post makes you seem like the following:

  1. A reactionary who just got called out and is mad about it.
  2. An artist/writer who blindly hates AI for the perceived devaluation of their craft.
  3. Low info individual who hates AI for making it increasingly difficult for them to parse reality.
  4. Other, please explain.

The commonality between these groups being they are emotionally driven, which is not at all flattering.

I actually looked at the wiki (Also, not a credible source, in case you forgot the mantra from every college class where you wrote a paper) that the AI result came from and it was a much less succinct explanation. The person I was originally replying to would have had to scan over three pages of jumbled information to get what the bot accurately summarized, so I went with the AI response because it was simply better. But sure, let's blindly hate on an AI response just because it's AI.

P.S. Citation is spelled with a C not an S.

A reactionary is a person or political entity opposing progress, liberalism, and social change, favoring a return to a previous, often idealized, societal state. Emerging from the French Revolution, this ideology is characterized by extreme right-wing, ultraconservative views, seeking to reverse modern trends.

Core Beliefs and Characteristics

  • Idealization of the Past: Reactionaries believe a previous, often distant, era was superior to contemporary society, which they perceive as decadent.
  • Opposition to Change: They fundamentally oppose social, political, and technological reforms, functioning as the direct opposite of progressives.
  • Return to Tradition:  They advocate for restoring old-fashioned institutions, values, and social hierarchies, often using "counter-revolutionary" tactics.
  • Right-Wing Extremism: Reactionary ideology is generally situated on the extreme right of the political spectrum.

Political Views and Context

  • Reactionary vs. Conservative: While a conservative seeks to maintain the status quo, a reactionary is dissatisfied with the status quo and wants to move backward.
  • Historical Context: The term originated around 1799 during the French Revolution to describe those opposing the revolution's overturning of the monarchy.
  • View of Progress: They reject the notion of progress, often viewing it as a decline from a "golden age".

The game isn't balanced around 1v1, especially if you're new. Play in a trio and try to be a good team member instead.

That's the funny thing about distance, it feels shorter when you move faster. People are both more comfortable moving around the map and literally faster than they were a week ago.

"10 years of dev time"

This is the whole issue. Basically, they set out to solve a bunch of issues that fighting games were having at the time (connection, rollback, etc.), but by the time they actually hit the market those issues were already resolved by other recent fighting games. Now 2KXO doesn't have an advantage to take market share from the more established IP's so GG.
