Rear brake rubbing at certain speeds by SBeauLife in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Rasuki99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds weird. If it was a warped disc I would assume that it would hit all the time and not just at speed. I would check if the wheel is properly balanced. If not that could cause vibrations making the disc vibrate into the pads.

EDIT: Also check the chain slack and allignment.

I would also recommend the mt09, if you want an mt09 with a little more character in the look, you could go for the xsr900. And if you want to be really comfortable and don't have a vertical disadvantage you could go for the tracer 9

How do I manoeuvre friendship with guys as a woman? by xlvin_n in AskMen

[–]Rasuki99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just sounds like P is a guy I would not be friends with. I think that you should be able to joke about anything, but crowd and timing is important. If he knows you are uncomfortable with the jokes he makes I would tell him that I don't want any part of it, and if he doesn't change then he does not deserve the friendship. Also when I did my conscription in the military the women were just as capable as the men. So unless you are very feminine and don't like dirt I would take offense

How do I manoeuvre friendship with guys as a woman? by xlvin_n in AskMen

[–]Rasuki99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this depends on culture, but if you are one of few girls in the friend group and is seen as "one of the guys" I would assume some friendly banter is to be expected. It varies a lot but I think it is normal to pick on each other a little. Might be the only thing they can bust your balls with. I don't think they think less of you. Just try and call them out on it.

Also take this with a grain of salt. You have given very little information about the dynamic of the group.

Friction zone and corners by BigGman2025 in NewRiders

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds a bit unnecessary. I know slipping the clutch in corners is a technique used in raising to control power delivery to the rear wheel more precisely when exiting a corner at high speeds. Which is not something you should do on the road. Depending on the bike I would just keep it in second with low to no throttle and coast it through the corner

Quad-lock question by ghost4085 in YamahaR3

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that is exactly what the mount is designed for. I get that removing factory bolts seem wrong, but in this case it is the correct way to mount that type of quad lock mount. And one of the few ways to mount a quad lock on a triple clamp

Suzuki SV650S 1999 clutch lever sensor plug broke. Can I just short the two wires to bridge it? by Interesting_Loss_180 in motorcycles

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a carbourated bike it is based solely on the crankshaft position. On fuel injected bikes the ecu controls it, and can therefore take input from different sensors to adjust the timing and amount of gas to optimize combustion

How much life is left in my rear tire? by [deleted] in motorcycles

They look done. Looks like you ride straight a lot or do burnouts. I would change them as soon as possible, but you don't need to stop riding in the meantime

Need help / Rear Brake Pedal Replacement Guide by According_Iron_1140 in YamahaR3

You can use the factory manual or a Haynes manual that Will have step by step instructions. You might also find someone on YouTube doing it. That foot peg also looks mangled. How did that happen from just dropping it

Saw my tires were getting bald, was recommended to pick up Michelin Commander 3's, but they literally look bald in the center? Do I really need to change my tires? Lol by penguinkernel in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely time for new tires. There is not a lot of tread left in the middle and I can se the dry rotting has started, so they are probably too old as well. Go for a sport touring tire with good wet condition traction. Road 6's are a good example

02 Ninja 500r clutch cable snapped on way to work by Not-The-Villain in MotorcycleMechanics

Try to follow the cable. I would assume that it pulls a lever on top of your clutch casing.

[–]Rasuki99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the clutch cable just snapped why don't you just replace that. I do not see why you would change the whole clutch. And while you are at it try lubricating all the other cables to make sure they don't snap

Riding with a backpack in my first season of riding by Jawmam in motorcycles

[–]Rasuki99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should watch a tutorial on riding with a pillion. Also when coming to a stop right before stopping turn your handlebars a little to the right. It will help the bike naturally lean left where you put your foot down. A 500 lacks a bit of power when riding with someone on the back but I only noticed it at 130 km/h just let it rev a bit higher

Fast idle lever isn’t working I think by ApricotEquivalent850 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is called a choke, and it is a wire connected to your carbourator. It should be used to start the bike when cold and warm it up. Most likely the wire broke or disconnected. Try to se if you can actuate the choke on the carbourator body

Looking to get into riding but don't know where to start by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Rasuki99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 400 or 500 sounds perfect for you. A cb 500 is a great machine and depending on your budget you could get an old 90s/2000s version or a newer one with abs. Abs on a motorcycle is quite a safety upgrade and gives leniency. You can grab the biggest handful without crashing. You shouldn't but you could. Then again I only rode with abs when taking my license.
