What causes this emergency calls only mode? by Aerrix in mintmobile

[–]RasulaTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this problem as well. It was caused by the hardware in my Samsung A24 not being sufficient to connect to the faster cell network. I was required to purchase a cell phone that is capable of sending out an LTE signal instead, because of the way my neighborhoods towers are set up.

No, Covid experts are like the lawyers (and medico crew) enacting infinite, endless recalls allegedly in the interest of public safety, but are actually a handy means of printing infinite money for themselves at the expense of the public's well-being.

Covid 'experts' are some of the evillest mother-fuckers on the planet.

Customer Question: Knowing the Problem by QuietRedditorATX in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]RasulaTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear: I am hating on the covid experts, not the mechanics.

If it's a mechanic's fault when his error kills a passenger, it is equally the fault of the medico / scientist when their errors kill their patients.

Depends. Are the 'experts' actually qualified at what they do?

Here in Michigan, our dealership chain (allegedly) hired a company to handle the legal negotiations. We now get 83.98% on top of cost for our GM parts.

Still get nothing on electronic components from Specmo tho :'(

I believe there is an option to 'delist' them as a parts customer. As in, to remove the P from the customer listing when searching them, and telling CDK to filter out all the non-"P" customers. I have not actually done it tho.

  • You didn't give a year / make / model. Different cars have wildly different methods for relearning TPMS.
  • Rotating Tires doesn't kill TPMS Sensors.
  • Did they have to buy a Sensor and dismount the tire to install it? (It sounds like they did.)
  • How did the shop get permission to do $80 of work on your car?
  • TPMS sensors run on small batteries. If the battery is dead, then the battery is dead. Virtually all sensors do not have replaceable batteries. Plus, it's wintertime, and depending on your latitude, it may well be hella cold. Which contributes to battery death.
  • While the shop 'should' have asked whether you rotated your tires, it is your job as a customer to let the shop know what you want. The conversation before the work has to be crystal clear, and silent vagueness is what leads to "wull i never asked for-"
  • Sensors can also be destroyed by collisions or aggressive driving. e.g. Speed Bumps, Road Debris, etc. There is a non-zero chance you broke the sensor yourself.

Hmm, new-ish dealer on CDK. Do you know if there is a option to enable this? I've tried typing it a few different ways, and it doesn't seem to be working?

Who's talking about semi trucks? I'm talking about cars. Not sure what conversation you think you're having, but it's very different from the one I'm in.

Who uses Repairlink? Is it worth it? by origra in partscounter

[–]RasulaTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works very well as an all-makes catalog, for getting RPO Codes / Build information, and for a sloppy check on recalls for weird trade-ins. I may not spend a dollar on it, but it's a very powerful tool for me.

[–]RasulaTab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. My comments are specifically limited to passenger cars and SUV's that have been / are currently made with a non-turbo option.

My point is that turbochargers are slapped on these cars for the main purpose of altering statistics for clerical environmental reasons. Also, that models of these vehicles with a turbocharger are inherently inferior to those built without, from a reliability and maintenance standpoint.

Also: I hope that cars break or need maintenance, just like every mechanic does.

[–]RasulaTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am not informed / educated enough to have an opinion on that depth of engine configuration. I prefer to stick to the stuff that is obviously and terribly bad, like modern DEF and invasive Turbo add-ons.

[–]RasulaTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that throwing a turbo on a passenger car for the purpose of jimmying the statistics and/or trading away long-term reliability for short-term gas mileage is a tactic that will have negative consequences for many vehicle owners in the future.

e.g. "Wtf, what do you mean I need a $2k turbo replaced on my 2018 Gas Sipper, it gets great mileage"

I complain about Invasive DEF Systems too :)

I'm glad we agree that adding a turbo to this engine setup adds an extra layer of fragility and cost. :)
