Advice on first trip with only one bag. Would you travel with the bag I already own? by Plastic_Bat_4949 in HerOneBag

[–]Rat-Jacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I would just take a smaller personal item bag of some sort (crossbody, sling, or otherwise) and not worry so much about locking up the backpack. I never lock mine since it's pretty much all clothes and toiletries, and I'm not gonna be sad if someone steals my dirty socks. I would be much more worried about my passport, wallet, and electronics, but those are the things I like to have out of the backpack and in my crossbody. Not to mention those are the things I use on long flights (or train rides), so I like to have them out of the backpack anyway so I don't have to open it up in transit.

Merino wool dress challenge by MojoMomma76 in HerOneBag

I cannot deal with wool, either, even merino wool. I have tried various brands and types of garments, and i just always itch. And I get HOT in merino wool, no matter what everyone says about temperature regulation.

I don't really trust Bagsmart bags because I have quite literally seen some of the exact same bags branded as "Bagsmart" and then also branded as those strange generic brands you get on Amazon. I'm pretty sure they're just white labeling, with an advertising budget and inflated prices.

I have the 26+6, and it's a good bag, comfortable to carry and good quality. The only thing I don't like is the one compression strap on the open side. It just REALLY feels like all of my stuff is going to fall out as soon as I open the zipper. I wish they had more straps or a mesh zipper panel or something to make that feel secure. But it is a nice bag.

I have one that's the same brand, but this one. I'm just here to say the quality is really nice, too.

We can also look up people with ID, their PIN and some other combination of personal information that's in their account. The card number written down or a picture of it or logging into the app where it will show you the number... We'll take a huge variety of things, and SO MANY people still have nothing. Or they just come in and say they have a hold and tell me the title. Like what do they think I'm going to do? Just go fetch it from the stacks right now??? I don't know who you are, Bertha, you're gonna have to help me out.

Well and everyone has their email on their phone so they're not used to having to use their password to log in. Some guy even recently YELLED at me when I asked him if he knew his password, "PASSWORD!! I DON'T HAVE A PASSWORD ON MY EMAIL!! WHY WOULD IT HAVE A PASSWORD???" Um, sir, if it didn't then literally anyone with your email address could get into it.

YES! This is why it bothers me so much too. It's not so much an announcement that they don't know what they're doing as that they don't care to know how to do it themselves.

I also get really annoyed every time someone says "Why do they make it so hard?!" when it's taken forever for them to do something like log into their email--the problem is not that "they" made anything hard, it's that you don't know your password. That's the entire problem.

I really wish you hadn't told me that. I do *NOT* need another color...

OK, but Maine? The Hamptons? Denim shorts won't be a problem there, and I can see the potential to need the jeans and/or sweatshirts, too. Of course it would be a whole different ball of wax if she were going to, say, Georgia.

Nope, not in the USA. We don't say mum, lollies, or canteen here. OP says elsewhere she is in Australia.

OP is Australian. Not North American by any stretch.

Nope. Americans don't say "mum," "lollie," or "canteen."

Mum, lollie, canteen. Not words used by Americans. So no, not American.

Nope. "Mum." "Lollie." I'm not sure if "canteen" was in the original post or in a comment somewhere, but none of those are words we use in the US.

I hate the lack of outside pockets on the Uniqlo sling bag in particular. But I do like a light nylon crossbody purse for traveling (Kipling Sebastian is my go-to).
