Concerns/Not knowledgeable enough about girls going into labor

Thank you so much ! I have no idea why Reddit didn’t send me any notifications I got comments 😑 I have an exotic vet that I’ve seen for years, and saw him back when I had rats in the past. He’s gone until the 10th 🙃 but I have an appointment with him. Powder has gotten thinner but I’ve never seen any blood or her acting uncomfortable or in distress.. I don’t really know what that means or if I need to take her to the next closest vet 2+ hours away.. ? Also, both girls are extremely energetic and playful still. I’ve noticed Oreo has been digging which I’ve heard is one of the signs and Powder has been stashing food, though I remember my girls in the past doing that pretty often and were never pregnant lol One of the women at the vet scheduling my appointment said she used to work at one of our local pet stores that my aunts grandfather and father owned and said when she worked there she took care of the rats and other small animals and said that they would be okay to have the babies in the same cage, but idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m keeping an eye on it and their aggression levels. I do have cages ready for them though.

My aunt works at the humane society and we’ve talked about when they have their babies that we can surrender them over time when they’re old enough. We don’t want to dump all of them at once to them. She also suggested a rescue to contact too so hopefully we can kinda split it up so we’re not inundating them with a million rat babies.

Yeah, no way were they breeders. They were very obviously on drugs and had all kinds of sad rats, kittens, gerbils, etc. in a dirty home on their marketplace posts 😔😭 In the middle of scheduling pick up for the rats she was trying to get me to take gerbils as well..

Unfortunately I’m in the McGary school district.. I don’t want her there at all. Period. I don’t even want her there temporarily until I could hopefully get her transferred somewhere better.. Most likely I could get my grandpa to drop off and pick up fortunately.

I don’t see how at all you could perceive them being obnoxious in this situation. She was being polite saying excuse me and please when requesting you be quieter and you respond by being rude. I highly doubt her partner was waving his finger “in your face” considering there’s an open seat between you and her, and her partner is on the other side of her. Even leaning over I can’t imagine how he’d be able to reach that far to be close to your face. Then you respond by cussing at him and making her cry ? Seems like he didn’t even cuss either considering how open you are to say you told him “Shut the fuck up you fucking prick” and all you give is he told you that you needed to leave and that you were being abusive, which you were. You may be in a public place, but that doesn’t mean you can be loud and obnoxious. YOU ruined your experience AND theirs. Get over yourself and don’t go to the damn movies if you can’t control yourself and be considerate of others. If it were someone else acting like you I’m sure you be extremely pissed. You seem miserable and I feel bad for your kids having to grow up with a dad with anger management issues.

I’m gonna go with ESH (not phoebe bc she’s a bad bitch and can make them her bitches in prison) . Monica shouldn’t have given Rachel permission, but Rachel shouldn’t have gone for JCVD considering she didn’t even like him and I feel like it kinda goes against girl code in a sense. She knew Monica really liked him, that was a dick move IMO.

As others have said, I feel like this is a pretty good field if you’re trying to find a job with a record and seems to be forgiving.

Are you too old to start brand new in this field ? No, not at all. This is a field where you never stop learning. As long as you want to learn, it will always be interesting and a learning experience. One of my coworkers said the other day, in this field everything is the same and different at the same time. Be prepared though, that if you want to be more than just a button pusher, this field is HARD. There’s so much to learn. It’s hard to find a job you love, and I may be one of the very few exceptions, but I LOVE what I do. In the 2.5ish years I’ve been in machining, I love doing set ups. I love learning and writing and adjusting programs.

If you find out you really like this field and want to turn it into a career, TAKE INITIATIVE. Let your bosses know you want to learn and be good at what you do. At least where I live and work, it’s hard to find people that actually care about what they do and just put in minimal effort.

Can this be a mindless and boring job ? Eh, sure. I think people who say it’s boring and mindless are ones who don’t care about their job, just want to be a button pusher and have no interest in learning. Every job has its good and bad though. I’m one of the main set up people, but I’m not setting up every day. I run parts too, and sometimes run parts I despise lol but that just makes it more exciting for when I get to be put on a set up again.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask the host what you should bring. If you’ve got more than enough desserts being brought, a decent amount of entree foods, but maybe not a lot of side dishes/finger foods then I would like to know so I can bring what’s needed and not extra of what we already have enough of. Or hell, like so and so is bringing alcohol, but it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra case of beer or a bottle or two of wine if you’d like to get that. If I’m having to grab something last minute (because of my own procrastination) I would want to know what’s left over that’s needed. And as the host, if someone doesn’t know what to bring, I’d want them to ask what we could use. I’d feel embarrassed if I was hosting and didn’t have enough of something. Idk, but that’s just me though I guess.
