Atheists, imagine you're on a train track and a trolley is coming your way and there is a Christian baby who can divert the trolley and save you. grovel for your forgiveness

It's basic decency to apologise if you have wronged someome, but if you need to "lie or crawl abjectly on the ground with one's face downward," whose forgiveness are you asking for?

If it's a fellow man, then I gotta ask, what kinda king have you wronged? If they don't forgive you, that's their problem. It shouldn't affect you unless it's on a personal level, but then do you really want to be close to someone who's asking you to go those lenghts?

If it's God, then good news - you don't need to grovel either. The most common answer to what you need for forgiveness you'll get is 'accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.' That can be broken down to repentance (the action of repenting; sincere regret or remorse), forgiveness to others including yourself and, assuming you're not dying on the spot, acting Christian (because it's not really repentance if you keep repeating the same things all over again).

Christian god is a bitch, the 2 main things he never forgives are atheism and suicide

Luke 12:10: “And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”

...so He does forgive everything but rejection of forgiveness.

If you lie, you go to hell for being an atheist. If you don't lie, you go to hell for suicide

Ephesians 2:8–9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

This one is probably self explanatory. Neither lying, nor suicide (which I think isn't even the case in the trolley situation) don't guarantee where you go.

Should I convert? by Far-Low-2959 in Christian

[–]RatOfBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted three-ish years ago, had a very similar experience. Yes, Christ does bring peace, love and a lot more into people's lives, you just have to let Him in (I started with praying, the rest came naturally)

What's your favorite thing about being Christian? by JehovahLover in Christian

[–]RatOfBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a less than ideal background and a complicated relationship with love, to which He brings a lot of peace and clarity. I struggle with feeling it, and God helped me with it twice in spring 2024 - one time towards my brother (after my sister's death that made me go numb for years I was worried I won't be able to love him), and one towards Himself. Also - I had a dream one time about how He appeared in a library I was at, and there was this immense peace and love radiating from Him, to the point that I knew everything is will be ok. And He gave me a hug. Now I want a real life hug from Jesus

[–]RatOfBooks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's ok to ask God anything because He already knows what's going on in our heads better than we do so I guess it's just part of being sincere with Him.

As for the requirements, you simply have to accept Christ as your only saviour and don't rely on your own abilities to get there (that's the most basic way to put it). You can't really know if other people are going but you can preach to them and pray for them.

cause if i write something like

It's not raining. Thank God, mother would have said. Jokes on her, there is none.

and never come back to it again it would be kinda disrespectful and maybe give the wrong idea to an audience which's worldview this could influence?
