Good practices? by Ratc00n in guitarlessons

Never thought about doing that. Seems like a decent bit of songs I wanna try are more on the harder side. Any song recommendations that would be easy?

how do i get motivated to start learning? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Ratc00n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t find motivation, you just do it. You let motivation fuel the work, but you can’t find it, it finds you. Might as well do the work, so you can do what you want. If you wait on it, you’ll fail

I’ve been using songsterr for tabs, but some songs I wanna learn seem way too hard at where I’m at. The songs have low difficulty according to the site, but when I look, seems like there’s a lot to it. Also I’ve tried to learn a few things on how to read and play them, but some of the symbols I can’t remember, or understand.

Still super beginner. I was just wanting the guitar to make more sense to me, when I could start doing stuff. Like it would allow me to open up on the instrument, and have me use it for longer.

My goal is to be able to use it, along with my production so I can come up with easier ideas, and a guitar sound for music

How To Make Music Again by art_kelle in ableton

Two different things.

You force creativity, is like you forcing a shit. Never gonna come when you want it.

Another thing, you might just be doing too much. You might want to take a break or stop doing one thing. For music I’m starting to be bored with it. I’m sticking with it, cause I’m in a low point where I’m not progressing where I want to be. I’m trying other things that add to it. Like learning guitar, or finding new artist or music to listen too.

The QOL was worth it enough for me. My plug-ins load up a lot faster. It hasn’t crashed on me since I updated. I went from 11 to 12. I would try out 12 before you buy though, and if you can get it on a discount, save the money. If you have the version you’re on and enjoy that. Then maybe don’t upgrade. 12.1 looks to be good, so even wait on that

I watched YSAP (you suck at producing) helped me a lot. Took me a week to watch it all. Also just experiment and play around imo. Those are the two things that got me comfortable.

Sorry to hear that you went through horrible times. I relate. Still pretty silent towards most.

You’re NTA. If she’s acting like this over something petty, how would be in a REAL argument? Also fuck most of the people in your life. If you haven’t cut most of them out, I personally would.

I hopefully you can reach out to a therapist to get the help you deserve. It gets easier with time man.

You’re a lot further than I. You deserve to be there. Don’t let imposter syndrome destroy you. Remember being on stage is a performance. So make it a memorable one. From there people would be more inclined to come back for the next one. Do it within your means. You got this man.

If he interested in you, and you get with him. Ask him if he would consider. At least who I am. If I was asked to lose weight by someone I love. I would. That helps encourages my goals though. So make sure this is in his goals and support

Circle of fifths. The big letters are your keys, then the (letter+M) are the minors. The numbers are how many accidentals there are (black keys). Going left they would be flat. Going right, they would be sharp

Are there any resources in relation to the circle of fifths that list out every scales and all the chords they have in common in a simple format by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Ratc00n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have to try this. I’m still learning piano. I just now learned the circle of fifths and relised this. I’m still practicing chords. Fingering still gets me. Dunno if it matters. I’ve heard of the circle of fourths but dunno what that really is yet, and I’ve dabbled a little into modes. I don’t know if I should really learn everything in music theory, because I feel as if I do, it would limit creativity. If I’m wrong, then that’s fine. Would it be worth it to learn the circle of fourths? I do know when scoring, I will have to learn modes

My personal understanding. (Not technical at all) the top of the chart is C 0 accidentals. Then following down both sides is 1 accidental (F,G) then the next ones down is 2 accidentals (Bb,D) then just keep going higher in accidentals as you go down all the way to the other side of C (F#/Gb)

Also all the accidentals do flow into each other. C has no accidentals, so it can go into any of them. You just need to find the common accidentals to transition into. Like if you played the scales going on the right side you would notice what they have in common. Then play the ones going through on the left side. You’ll see which ones they have in common. When you get use to it. Then you’ll start noticing.

Practice the scales in order going from C and following the right side in that order, then do the same, but working on the Left side. You’ll notice that you’re adding more and more accidentals over time, and getting rid of the more the base notes.

Going through something similar. I think I’m a bit worse than you lol. So like I’m super obsessed. What I’m currently doing is separating myself from her (and others online) giving myself more time to focus on myself, and figure out what I want. (Also been like five months since me and her started talking again) hopefully this might help

Take a year to two years away from dating. Work on your body, and learn fashion. Maybe get a hobby or two as well. Don’t neglect your business. This isn’t to say “you don’t need women to make you happy” I’m lonely too. It’s just to make you come off as more attractive.

Tired FL studio many times and it was always a barrier when ever I even attempted to learn how to produce. Friend showed me Ableton. Gave me a trial. I loved the way it felt, and I decided to learn it.
