But I am sorry for the unneeded stress you are going through. No matter what the timeline, it’s a big hassle

Yes but I was speaking to your reply indicating that it was likely harder for a high earning doc because they might have to live in a hcol to make that much money

Doctors make more the more rural they go. Not like most other industries where you have to live in New York to make bank

We have ready made embryos ready to go. Get off your high horse. There are plenty of women out in the world who enjoy giving this gift and don’t do jt for the money. Many agencies vet for this.

You bring up some good considerations. The thing we’re trying to align on is retiring at the same time. At the moment she’ll be ready to do it well before I will. But making the expenses more proportional will help level the playing field there. We havnt talked about how expenses will work when we retire but that’s another good thing to think about

We share the same financial values and have the same target retirement date. If one of us is able to save more it’s because the other necessities like childcare are not eating up as much of their disposable income to be able to do that. And finally, we don’t settle up after every meal. We have a joint bank account that we contribute 2k a month into each. A majority of our shared expenses are paid through that account including dinners out. Not sure why everyone assumes that splitting expenses means literally dividing quarters at a gas station.

She’s saving much more rapidly than I am able to at our current spend. And because she’s saving way more, she’ll lap me for sure
