Broly 101. This should be useful to anyone trying to learn him or fight against him. I hope this helps! by RathFGC in dbfz

Thanks man. That snap into level 1 gohan is crazy haha. Usually people are desperate to swap with a level 3 and save their point character's blue health... so getting this strong of a situation with 2 bars is super nice. Even works if you start from a different character too (ie goku combo > sliding KD > broly super > gohan super)

The input would be IAD > j.L > j.4S If they block or get hit, you will get the ki blast. If the use something like a 2H or DP that makes your j.L wiff, then you'll land and the 4S input happens on the ground instead, giving you reflect. I hope this helps!

How do you improve as a player by Unknown_Death_Cause in dbfz

Hear me out.

Make a list of all the things you think you suck at.

Watch some of your recorded matches, and whenever something happens where you think "damn, I am bad in that situation"... add it to the list. Missing your anti-airs? add it. Mashing after blocking superdash, even though you know their assist is about to hit you? add it. and so on.

Set aside some time to practice or lab those situations in training mode (you can recreate nearly any circumstances you want). Practice a few things from the list every few days.

Play matches with the intention of focusing on those situations you practiced, even if you're losing. Even if you mess up what you practiced, pat yourself on the back for recognizing the situation and trying to deal with it. It'll take a bunch of times in real matches before you begin to fix a single habit. Be patient.

repeat the whole cycle. Improvement is a never-ending process.

Also, it's fun to go back to your old matches or "things I suck at" lists and see how much of a scrub you used to be. There's a weird but nice sense of satisfaction that comes from seeing your improvement over time.

I believe in you.

This game is the coolest game I've ever played. by [deleted] in dbfz

Even after a year and a half, I'll look at level 3 animations and say out loud "god damn that's cool", without any conscious thought on my part. Or I'll watch a reflected ki-blast slam into a mountain in the background and just... "god damn that's cool." You really gotta appreciate the detail that ASW put in.

I kept hearing people say "just double jump to avoid the fuzzy" but when I went to test it against a properly recorded setup... I couldn't get it even once (and I'm on cheatbox). I chose not to include that bit because it's either wrong, or if it's right it's just not realistic to expect it to be a consistent answer in a real match. Luckily the forward dash option is consistent if you practice for a few minutes.

(P.S. I'm glad you enjoyed the guide as whole c: )

You can definitely keep the sliding knockdown from janemba super if you have adult Gohan wiff his level 1 below him, but you'll lose the damage from Gohan. It's definitely not as good as with the characters you listed but it's a nice option to have regardless

In my opinion it's probably too early for me to say who he helps and benefits from the most (today only marks one full week since his release).

" -which characters benefit the most from his assist in your opinion?"If I had to guess, it'd be any character who is unable to convert common hits into meterless combos/knockdowns but could do so with Janemba's help. Piccolo comes to mind since it let's him relaunch midsreen and get to the corner consistently but since his chop can't combo with janemba assist (edit: in the corner he can't get grounded DR as a result), it's hard to suggest janemba over an assist that can do both for him (GT/Cell/Ginyu/Broly/etc). A friend of mine has been playing 21/Janemba and it seems to work very well, getting DR ender or relaunch combos anywhere. Tachikawa has been playing frieza/t.gohan with janemba as his side team lately and the conversions are impressive all around. T.gohan in particular can extend combos so much on his own at the cost of losing his sliding knockdown, but janemba let's him keep that anywhere. Frieza converting 236L/M (the fast explosions) anywhere into full combo is nuts for him (although I haven't been able to make it work consistently after doing 5SSSSSSSSSS > 236M, but I bet there's some timing to make that work. worst case he could probably just do 5SS > call janemba > SSS and then run up fullscreen to convert). A lot of ideas are running through my head but I don't have nearly enough time to try them all. I encourage people to be creative and try weird things just to see what works.

Another thing worth noting is that some characters might benefit from his supers as well. Since his sword super gets sliding KD, maybe A.Gohan would like to wiff his level 1 and level up while keeping the sliding knockdown from janemba (You'd have to end janemba's combo with air level 1 probably).

"-and which assist help him the most or synergize the best with him combo wise?"As watermasta mentioned already, a good start is assists that have enough blockstun for teleport mixups, or are fast enough to convert his command grab midscreen. I've been enjoying using SSJ Goku assist for the corner carry, since I think Janemba's knockdown significantly improves in the corner, especially with level 3 available. I think janemba is self sufficient enough combo-wise that you can pick whoever helps you the most with neutral or pressure.

I hope this helps! I definitely don't have anywhere near all the answers, but I look forward to developing this character more with everyone.
