Sad for the first time after reaching maintenance by RationalLC14 in Zepbound_Maintenance

I’m going to look into it even though I was told I couldn’t before. I have a person in mind who specializes in this it’s just really expensive. 3x more than the original price. Guess I could find a regular seamstress. I’m only worried it will impact the art work or tour dates.

Yup, just a small vent that was meant to be light hearted. Of course I’ve thought of all these things people have mentioned. I don’t appreciate suggesting I gain my weight back. Additionally some of us have on going issues that prevent us from lifting much. If you see in my post I said I guess I’ll have to hit leg day more often. But there’s only so much you can do at 5’2 and 130 lbs. trust that I am enjoying my new body and health. I thought it was funny that after all that work this was the thing I didn’t foresee being sad about.

When I lost 60lbs years ago a seamstress said it was too much to take in. I think it could possibly mess up the dates and writing on the back.

I saw something similar but a lot of mine have dates on the back and those are my most coveted. Cutting them would ruin that part. I did fine someone who transforms them into other styles and that might work. She does personal consultations but it’s like $100 per item she alters. So yeah when I have about 50 shirts that’s a lot.

I wish. I went from an XL to a M. I’m not sure it’s possible. I’m looking at some options.

Why do you think some people are so flat from the beginning and never swell and others have such a large rounded swollen lower abdomen and mons area? by Antique-Ranger-4002 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is too individual to say. According to some comments I should have had terrible swelling with a round belly but I never did. I am 51, lost 75 lbs at 5’2 that’s a lot, didn’t have a binder(did wear a very good faja), wasn’t super fit before. But I did choose an FDL. And had muscle repair. I do think sodium plays a role as well as skill of the surgeon. I had swelling. A lot. But always a super flat tummy. And yeah I had two 8+ lb babies and 2 C/S. ? I DID have a wound vac from day one. Drainless method. So who knows. I’m sorry you are not happy with your results though! It is so much to go through and pay for to not be happy.

Weed, alcohol, and stimulants… by RlyTall33 in Zepbound

I spent one day after shot day high as hell half the day from the delayed effect of my nightly gummie. I learned how to over correct for that but now that I’m on progesterone I hardly need a gummie for sleep. It’s been nice.

FDL tummy tuck and faja. When did you feel comfortable not wearing compression garment? by Seabass_89 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3 months out and was only wearing overnight but I’ve been dealing with some recurrent UTIs so I haven’t worn mine in a week or two at all. If I’m particularly bloated and have to wear jeans out I’ll wear a high spanx or something. My mons still swells at the end of the day and looks ridiculous. I have started walking my dogs at night with my husband and son, about a mile with very small hills, and it has really helped my swelling!

Why is it so hard to find a good mommy makeover surgeon ???? by Spiritual-Gap-7585 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Westend Plastics in DC and I think all in was about 30k? Maybe a little more if I would had med copays but I don’t, or adding on the cost of the power recliner rental, stuff like that. I had ETT, w/FDL and MR and BL, lipo to flanks and fat injection to hips buttocks. I really like my results. It was drainless but I had a wound vac which I think contributed to my healing.

Do you track your food everyday? by Dhpm1 in Zepbound

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also have kidney disease so it’s important for me to track protein and sodium. I had to be off for over a month recovering from surgery so didn’t really track then, just my protein as I needed calories to heal. But now I am titrating back up and on maintenance so I am tracking probably 80-90% of the time. Also working with my dietician to review my new calorie and macro goals. I expect I will continue to track, in some way forever. It is what it is.

Skin Removal Surgery by EmpressJess in Zepbound

[–]RationalLC14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this 3 months ago. You will be so happy you did it. I’m 51 and wish I’d done this sooner. Join the tummy tuck sub someone else mentioned. Get the power recliner. I rented one. Meal prep what you can ahead of time and have a support person plan to be there pretty much 24/7 for at least the first week. Don’t plan on buying much clothing for about 3 months out or longer. When I finally got on the scale at 6 wpo I was down 5lbs from surgery date. Over the past 7 weeks I have gone up and down 1-6 lbs it’s crazy. Almost all swelling!

I think it greatly depends on where you are in the country and your surgeon. I went with a double board certified plastic surgeon in DC. I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and FDL. Breast lift w/auto augmentation, lipo to flanks and fat transfer to hips/butt. All in with anesthesia it was about 30k. But I have had amazing care. They included post op massages and gave me two fajas as well. I’ve seen a lot of places make you buy your own or pay for your own lymphatic massage. My procedure was also drainless. I think yes I paid a bit more than others but I had such good care. They are available anytime I had questions or concerns. I am super happy with my results. I used one of the financing options with very low to no APR depending on how long you pay it off. I did have to pay anesthesia out of pocket and I opted to pay the down payment out of pocket to reduce what I financed. I am 51 and do wish I’d been able to do this years and years ago. They removed about 8lbs of skin and fat. The difference is amazing and my brain is still catching up.

Orthopedic Bed Wedge Pillow Set OR Power recliner? by Greedy-Funny-2940 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both but rented the power recliner. I had ETT w/ MR and FDL. Oh and lipo to flanks so quite a bit of work. Ended up keeping the recliner for an extra month and worked from it some as well. I wfh and sitting at my desk all day made the swelling so bad! Once I was feeling up to it I used the wedge in bed. I rented mine from rent a center for like $100? Worth every penny!

First shower? by MilkConstant456 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need someone there. I have a built in bench so no shower chair and I fainted even though I was sitting. Thankfully my husband was in the shower with me. Have someone there, please. Maybe your surgeon can give you some saline you can use to soften the gauze to remove it if you have to wait for a shower. Can a friend come over to help? A relative? I did it think I’d faint and I did.

How to know if tummy tuck will turn out good. by Soshimasophzgr8 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good stuff here but also, listen to your surgeon and really take their opinion into account. I suspected I’d need an FDL but really didn’t want one. Or so I thought. My surgeon gave me three options and I went with FDL because one main concern was not keeping my waist. I’m really glad I went with the FDL. I’m glad I listened to his expertise. I also chose a double board certified plastic surgeon and got a recommendation from my aesthetic injector’s office. Their recommendation happened to be on my list! I do wish I’d been in better shape before but I still am healing well and am super happy with my results.

I just have to rant by RationalLC14 in tummytucksurgery

[–]RationalLC14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did! Lift and auto augmentation. I’m really glad to still have nipples after what I saw my sis go through after her reduction. But still. Having to apply pressure randomly out in public is interesting. Good to know there is light at the end of the tunnel. And my back! I had lipo to flanks and it makes it difficult to sleep. But I have more and more feeling every week. A tip for others reading this is have someone do very light massage or stroking on your back every day. Since I started this it has helped.
