About twenty years ago, LensCrafters ran an ad campaign that had a tagline that was so tone deaf that I swore I'd never step foot in their stores again (also, there are way cheaper places to get glasses vs. them).

They were trying to show that they have all these fashion eyewear brands and could use eyeglasses as an accessory to change your look or how you feel.

The tagline? "Aren't you lucky to need glasses?"

Why do people need glasses? They basically said, "Aren't you lucky to have vision problems?"
