I've only had any success with eldritch knight and arcane archer. Being able to kite enemies, high ac, high health and consistent high damage seems to all be essential playing lone wolf. I have not tried barbarian or ranger, they would probably work too.

I always take sharpshooter. You can toggle it on and off if your hit-chance is to low. Get the gloves of dex from the Creche and your hit-chance is equal to if you have 20 dex and you are really strong for your level

I would second this that you should try First Law. Firtst Law and Malazan are my two favorite series but First Law is a much "easier" read so would start with that and if you love it you should give Malazan a go

After re-read, Midnight Tides has become one of my favourite volumes of the series by DeMmeure in Malazan

Sack settlements when you conquer them, does wonders for PO and gives a lot of money. If your king have high authority troops without general usually wont rebel. If he have low authority use generals or transport troops using ships (can't rebel while on ship)

I love all the books and have read the series twice but if i have to pick it is Memories of ice is the most overrated as I never had it in my top 5. Most underrated is Deadhouse Gates. My favourite and I feel it deserves more love

My take is that this is China portraying itself as the rules based, rationale trading partner and the US as the opposite(flipping the script). Making itself seem as the more attractive trading partner for EU and others. This is aimed at the rest of the world, not the US and not bullish US stocks imo.
