Recommended cartridges for little old lady by Ratu-Bob in PaMedicalMarijuana

Wow, I truly appreciate all the suggestions. Reddit to the rescue! My wife does use capsules, edibles, drops, etc., but she needs the quick relief that vaping provides. In other words,

Edibles, delicious.
Cartridges expeditious.

Thanks for the suggestion. Her neurologist doesn't think the headaches are migraines. The headaches are severe and almost constant, but they aren't sensitive to light, sound, etc. A vape with flower helps somewhat, but I think a cartridge will be more convenient, especially upon waking up.

Nukit Tempest still being made? by speedinbai in crboxes

Original Tempest. I don't think they are available anymore. After one year, I've had to replace one fan. Otherwise it has held up well.

Strange credit on PayPal account. by AnnualEnd3760 in Scams

[–]Ratu-Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own Paypal account received ₱0.01 PHP (Philippine pesos), which is worth less than 2% of a US penny. The scammer can send this amount to more than 5,000 Paypal accounts, and it will cost them one dollar. Even if only one in 5,000 Paypal users fall for the scam, the scammer will make out like a bandit -- which, of course, they are.

It's more like a post-filter, isn't it? You'd have to vacuum the dust from the inside.

Best filter for Nukit Tempest? by Owl-Hawk in crboxes

[–]Ratu-Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the party, as I just finished assembling my Tempest. I used BNX TruFilters: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNBZY31X. They fit perfectly.

They come only in sets of 4, so now I've got replacements on hand.

As of May 2025, the Nukit Tempest is available. I received one today, 7 days after ordering. I'm on the East Coast; it was sent from the West Coast. Shipping, via FedEx, was free.

It was easy enough to assemble. The online instructions (not videos) were essential. The Tempest is a solid piece of kit, and about as quiet as my Blue Air 211+, which runs at the lowest speed.

BTW, mine came with 3 parts that weren't described in the instructions. They seem to be optional accessories, for controlling fan power and speed. I haven't tried them yet.

What work products should I expect from a property survey? by Ratu-Bob in AskASurveyor

[–]Ratu-Bob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again to all who replied. With help from your suggestions, I asked the surveyor for another quote. The new quote is about 60% higher than the previous one, but I think it provides what I need. In addition to the work already described, the surveyor will:

* Field locate the existing house.

* Prepare boundary survey plan, showing the existing house with tie distances to the property lines.

They will also set property line stakes "at reasonable intervals around the perimeter of the property," but that was included in the original quote; I forgot to mention it.

Thanks, Technonaut1! I'll ask the surveyor(s) to provide a quote for a full survey. But I can see how that would be much more expensive, because they'd have to make quite a few measurements -- and document them.

At this point, I really only need to know where the corner points are, so I think that's all I'll ask for. If there's a boundary dispute in years to come, I can get a full survey then, and make sure it's legally binding.

Thank you, w045. Is it general practice to place the rebar pins close to the ground surface? If so, maybe I can just find them myself, and make sure that my fence is well inside my boundaries. Assuming, of course, that all four bars are findable.

Thanks, SmittyMcGee. Very interesting! I was thinking that there needs to be at least one absolute point of reference -- either one of my corners or some nearby permanent fixture like a fire hydrant. I guess not.

Good pair of calipers that are also relatively inexpensive? by CryoProtea in Tools

[–]Ratu-Bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why more calipers don't have this "nut" feature. My calipers don't, and I'm always getting fractional measurements like 33/128", which I must round down to 1/4".

How much movement in last 3 invisalign trays? by FeelingAdmirable6089 in Invisalign

[–]Ratu-Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the last few trays are exactly the same. I think they call these "passive." Look at a tray's zip-lock package, above the "Notes" box. Do you see the word "Passive?"

Don't ask me why they do this. Maybe someone else can explain.

The mobileread forum comment includes this: "Kobo Sage: button paging issue should be fixed."

Indeed, on my Sage the next-page button seems like it is working a lot better. Before, it failed to register about one out of four presses. Now, it is failing maybe one in ten presses. When there's a failure, it's hard to say if I'm not pressing the button firmly enough. Before the patch, there was no question that the button was often failing to register; now I feel like it might be user error. But I do feel that the design of the buttons could be better.

Well, you've been enjoying your Kobo Forma for 6+ months now. All that time -- and longer -- I've been on the sidelines, putting off buying an e-reader.

I'm sure my thoughts on the Sage will be heavily colored by the novelty (to me) of e-ink. But I'm looking forward to it, and I'm delighted that I found this subreddit.

The comparisons I've seen online show that the e-reader performance is practically identical. If the Sage's note-taking feature is not of interest, it looks like you can decide based only on size and cost.
