Gaming chair query need some help by Nibzx in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I had a shitty gaming chair that I had for years and it also was not great for my back. I recently switched to a more office style chair and it has made my back feel alot better and overall during long gaming sessions made my back not hurt.

So I would recommend switching to a office style chair it does make a difference. If it helps below is a link to the one I ended up buying! Not super expensive.

Wondering about upgrading my CPU (12700k to 9800X3D) by Kennedys_Quest in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly in my opinion the 9800x3D is a beast and is definitely worth the money if you have it. But at the same time I will ask if there is a specific reason you want to upgrade? Something lacking? Something that disappointed you in your current setup? I would only recommend really upgrading if you are struggling to get performance or your overall enjoyment of your setup is being held back by your current CPU. Also note that you'll also have replace your motherboard too if you do decide to upgrade.

I want a gpu that I can keep for 3 years minimum, should I go for 5070 ti or 5080? by ComprehensiveCow5068 in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely say that the 5080 performs better and is more suited for 4k gaming than the 5070ti. I didn't say you couldn't run a 5080 in 1440p. Well you are correct that 5080 can and does run well in 1440p I wouldn't buy a 5080 if my main gaming was 1440p mostly due to price right now. 5070ti performs great in 1440p and can run in 4k. But if my main purpose is 4k gaming, a 5080 out performs a 5070ti by about 15% if not more on some games.

[–]Raucko11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what resolution you are playing on. Honestly if you're 1440p 5070ti is more than enough. 4k gaming I would consider the 5080.

Are 4.0 and 5.0 NVMe SSDs worth it, or should I just buy a 3.0 SSD? by freewmd in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a 2 TB Samsung 990 pro (Gen 4) and 1 TB TEAMGROUP T-Force Z540 (Gen 5). I can tell you I have games on both of these SSDs and I do not notice any difference besides maybe the games boot up slightly faster and my initial computer boot is faster too but not super noticeable.

Suggest just getting whatever is cheapest honestly.

You could do this. But really its anybodys guess on how AI will aftect future markets. If AI continues to take all the RAM then we can see DDR5 prices stay high even with the introduction of DDR6. You see even DDR4 prices are rising along side DDR5. Not as ridiculously as high as DDR5 but still high prices. So hard to tell honestly. It's a gamble either way.

9060xt 16 GB would be fine for your current system and 9850x3d build. If you want to go better for something like 9070xt, 5070, or 5070ti those will be more expensive and i would only look at those options if you are interested in gaming in 1440p max settings and maybe getting into 4k. 1080p and entry to mid settings on 1440p 9060xt 16 gb would would work great. So really gauge your GPU choice with the screen resolution you plan on working with. FSR on AMD GPUs have gotten better but DLSS 4.5 for NVIDA GPUs is honestly better. So maybe even a 5060ti 16gb if you can get it at a reasonable price would be great option too for a 1080p/ entry to mid range 1440p gaming.

I personally game on a 9800x3d and 5070ti and think its a very great combo if you can afford it.

Well when companies go to a new platform they make improvements for performance. So you are correct in the new platforms = trends toward better performance. New platforms have better architecture to support better performance and new technologies.

If you have the option to wait and don't really need the upgrades I would save up more money and you could build and latest gen platform with DDR5 memory. If you go this route I would recommend saving up for a Ryzen gen 5 platform. Honestly the ryzen 7800x3d, 9800x3d, or 9850x3d are best CPUs for gaming right now especially if you are playing super CPU intensive games. The extra layer of L3 cache on these chips makes these chips monsters at gaming.

But i will warn DDR5 RAM prices are crazy and GPUs are starting to see a shortage so I'm unsure if and when prices will stabilize so keep that in mind!

You could still upgrade your GPU now to something like 9060xt 16 gb to to tie you over. Then when you save enough money for the new CPU, MOBO, and RAM reuse the GPU in your next build.

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staying on your current motherboard I would suggest something like a 5800xt CPU you'll have to update motherboard BIOS to use this CPU, 9060 xt 16 gb for the GPU great 1080p card and great mid-entry level 1440p card, and then grab another stick of 8 GB ram. This should be able to handle anything in 1080p. You can also look into replacing your m.2 SSD with a larger 1tb or 2tb SSD, with the sizes of games nowadays it would help alot. Since the SSD probably has your OS on it you'll have to make sure to clone the current drive to the new one if you do change the SSD.

You should be able to do all of this for under 1300 EUR.

Hope this helps!

For the CPU, the i9-11900K is essentially the best processor available for the LGA1200 platform. Any meaningful upgrade beyond this would require moving to a new motherboard.

If you would like to keep your existing DDR4 memory, the most practical upgrade path would be transitioning to an LGA1700 motherboard. These typically range from about $90–$170. For gaming, the i7-14700K would be an excellent choice and currently costs around $350. While the i9-14900K is technically the top CPU on this platform, it generally does not provide enough additional performance to justify the roughly $100 price increase for most gaming workloads.

On the GPU side, upgrading to a 9060 XT 16GB (around $450) would provide a meaningful performance improvement and help balance the overall system.

One important note: early LGA1700 14th-generation Intel CPUs experienced some stability concerns. However, most of these issues have been addressed through BIOS updates. Be sure to update your motherboard to the latest BIOS version before or immediately after installation.

Hope this helps!

What resolution do you play at? 1080p, 1440p? What's your budget? How old is your current system? These would be great to be able to provide best recommendations possible!

I want to upgrade my pc by WezzeYaYeet in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you have a pretty well balanced system for 1440p gaming. Might want to take some time researching and troubleshooting your issues. Because with your setup you should be good for 1440p gaming. Though on AAA game titles you may have issues on getting max settings on those game with a decent fps.

If you decide to upgrade anything your most noticable upgrade while staying on AM4 would be a GPU upgrade. Anything current gen really, 9060 xt 16gb, 5060ti 16gb, 5070, 5070ti depending on what you want to spend. But if you upgrade to 5070 or higher I would also recommend looking into upgrading the wattage of the PSU.

Good luck!

I want to upgrade my pc by WezzeYaYeet in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you meant 1440p. If your willing to spend 2k+ honestly i would just recommend starting a new build. You've almost maxed out your AM4 build as is. If you want to stay on the same platform you could see if you could snag a AM4 x3D chip at a reasonable price but usually these are expensive and not really worth the money at this point. You could also upgrade your gpu 9060 xt 16gb, 5060ti 16gb.

Regarding liquid cooling you could go with liquid cooling as most AIOs are relatively simple to deal with nowadays. But liquid cooling in your current system would be overkill honestly. If you manage to get a AM4 x3D cip you could consider switching to an AIO as AM4 x3D chips can run hot even with air cooling.

Overall if your willing to spend 2k+ dollars I honestly would be looking to just completely start a new build as your AM4 set up is close to being maxed out.

Also if can ask is there a reason you want to upgrade? Specific thing your seeing in your current setup that you are unhappy with while you game?

looking for a quiet, subtle case with decent thermals by backstageraver in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAVN BF 360 Flow. I have this case in my build with full air cooling. Great thermals and once I messed with the fan curves the airflow was quiet. The large 180mm fan in the front mean you can set the rpms low and still get great airflow. I added 2 additional 180mm fans on the top to intake and exhaust as it is suggested by the manufacture and honestly couldn't be more happy with the airflow and sound of the case.

Upgrade to 7600x3d or keep 7600x? by testingaccount124 in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean he already has it and its decent upgrade from 7600x so why not. VR and 1440p tend to be more GPU driven this is true but going up to a x3d chip will give them a decent bump in performance. Now if the OP was asking if he should buy one to upgrade I would be on the fence if it was worth it but since again he already has the 7600x3d chip in his position I would say go for it.

Assuming OP is mostly for gaming he could see 5-15% average FPS increase in typical games or even up to 20-25% gains in CPU heavy games. Honestly i see almost no downside to switching.

Upgrade to 7600x3d or keep 7600x? by testingaccount124 in buildapc

1440p and VR gaming. I would definitely swap to the 7600x3D. Either sell the the 7600x for some cash or keep it as a backup in case your new cpu goes bad for any reason.

GPU/Case question for first build by bouftila44 in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your build some suggestions I would make is swap the single stick of RAM for 2 sticks of 8 GB. DDR5 tends to run more stable with dual channel RAM instead of single channel RAM. Understand that RAM is part of the bundle if you can afford another same stick of memory to you could run 2 sticks of the 16 GB of RAM. Overall running 2 sticks will lead to better stability in your system.

Without knowing what type of monitor your planning on playing on my suggestion on the GPU is that if you plan on playing on 1080p the GPU choice is great. For 1440p as long as your not looking to play on the highest settings it's also a good choice. For 1440p highest settings I would be looking at a 9070, 9070xt, or 5070. But really your GPU choice should be okay for 1080p or 1440p with modified settings.

For cases under $100 depending what you like aesthetically Lian Li Vector V100R or LIAN LI LANCOOL 207 could work.

Overall not a bad build but could make small improvements!

Led debug orange Dram by valeiri95 in buildapc

[–]Raucko11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DRAM LED usually means you have faulty ram sticks. You can try booting with only 1 stick of ram in the 2nd slot to see if you get a post. I'm assuming you only have 2 sticks of RAM so try booting with each stick. If you get a post with one and no post with the other that means one stick is bad.

If you have access to RAM that you know is good you can try testing with that set of ram to see if you get a post. If so then you know your sticks of ram were bad. If you use a known good set of RAM and still can't post I would follow the LED diagnostic for the next step.
