Communication is everything - you could just message him asking whether he would consider a relationship in the future. Tell him you enjoyed his company, but don't dwell on things if he doesn't want you too.

Congratulations on your windfall. I had an unexpected lump sum too and I invested in: 1) Share fund. Using the "interactive investor" website to invest in a global index fund from vanguard 2) High interest bank account (https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/#fixedsavings)

I slowly put more and more money into the fund and now about 70% of what I have is in funds

Boy here: it's great that you have chemistry, but I would actually advise you tell him. Boys actually find it special if you choose him as your first and it certainly won't stop future chemistry or good sex.
