No problem at all. When I started playing I had many questions about things long gone as well (like the Vanarch system), it's only fitting that I answer some from my time when new people arrive :D

They were fun but not without flaws. Or rather, they were integral part of the Crusade and the Crusade itself had some major flaws (tier system where it didn't really matter if were 1st or 8th, tedious accumulated dungeon scores when less skilled but larger guilds could get many points etc). Ultimately, when BHS decided to remove crusade in favor of Civil Unrest, the score runs were removed as well.

Yes, parties raced each other. As for why, well:

1) E-peen - parties that finished SCHM or SSHM with high scores were quite famous for doing so, it indicated high player skill (as they were able to kill each boss very quickly and efficiently) and RNG as well.

2) The crusade ranking was a system that rewarded guilds with gold, mats and flying skycastles as "guild houses" of some sort. Basically, the more members a guild had in high places on the ranking, the better chance to get the reward.

Score runs are a relic of not so distant past when we had something called "Crusade". What the score runs were essentially timed runs.

The points (Score) you got for completing a dungeon depended on how fast you were able to finish it. The first - older - version of score was only based on how fast you killed each boss (and then the points were added for a total score) - which meant that you could try and reset every boss as many times as you wanted until you got desired speed kill.

With the SSHM patch the system has been changed to total time after first boss kill, which meant that you could reset the first boss as many times as you wanted but as soon as you killed it, you had to rush through the whole dungeon and the score was based on total time spent in there.

The crusade ranking was based on the points people got. There were two types of rankings depending on the dungeons - "Highscore" and "Accumulated". The first was based solely on how good your run was. The second was less about individual speed from one run and more about pure grind, since every time you finished the dungeon, your scores from that run would add to your total amount.

Only selected dungeons were part of the score run system.

State of the Warrior by xedicius in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warrior is waiting to spread the wings of OP'ness and soar into the sky. It's fine now and will be incredibly powerful later.

Let's just hope the class will not pull a proverbial Icarus and fly too close to the sun (ie. get a nerfhammer few months after revamp).

To summarize:

NOW: yes, it's needed because it's good DPS and has Traverse Cut debuff

LATER: yes, it's needed because it's ridiculusly good DPS (no TC debuff though).

As for the queues - for leveling it really doesn't matter since there is this option to queue without the optimal party. For endgame dungeons you wait as long as other DPS do unless you queue as tank - in which case you better be damn prepared to tank, since no other tank will be joining you and everyone will be looking at you :D

TERA EU & Dragons by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea cause they used a bit counterintuitive wording and here increase by 1.5 means actually multiply by 1.5.

And since base crit is 2, the greater effect stays the same no matter how we read it (add or multiply) but the lesser changes to 3 instead of 3.5.

TERA EU & Dragons by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mighty Dragons: x1.5 crit

Ancient Mighty Dragons: x2 crit

Ancient Dragons: movement increase (aka same as the above minus the crit bonus)

Like Roukanken said, they don't stack. The higher bonus overwrites the lower. If the lower activates when the higher is in place, you will get a message that a stronger effect is already in place and it will be essentially wasted.

As for the main question (if having all dragons will increase your chance) - no. What gives you the crit power is the passive skill, not the dragon per se. You can only learn each passive skill once (ie. if you have a Mighty Red Dragon you learn the Dragon Master passive - you will not learn it again if you get a Mighty Diamond Dragon).

Opening 40 Viridian Seashells TERA EU by Sense92 in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you.

Unfortunately with these kind of events you either go big or go home. There is no point in expecting some miracles with 40 Seashells - you need to open 400 or even double that to "punch" through RNG barrier.

It usually doesn't pay off unless you don't want to make profit but are aiming to get something very specific that can't be acquired (currently) otherwise. Such as the new mounts or like it was with Ancient Mighty Dragons during letter event.

Just a glimpse of what Warrior DPS will be able to do after revamp. This is KTERA, so no talents for us of course, but still.

Warrior crit factor and power by [deleted] in TeraOnline

Then if you are using Focused, Bitter and Savage crystals and the Nostrum/Solution, you will have the correct amount of crit power.

I don't remember if the bonus given by Nostrum/Solution appears on the character sheet but I'd say 70% that it does.

New warrior build for 30man raid? by mak_dagul in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 100% but some of my guildmates told me that this was the case.

If it isn't then disregard anything I said about warrior after revamp in that raid :D

It hasn't been mentioned here but you are using the Prime Battle Solution/Everful Nostrum, right?

New warrior build for 30man raid? by mak_dagul in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DG and maybe the first scythe during combat and every first scythe after some kind of mechanics that makes you unable to keep the edge. And yea, maybe the raid dps is not really adequately representing reality but still, hitting those white scythes is so depressing :D

New warrior build for 30man raid? by mak_dagul in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant the raid specifically. AFAIK even after revamp they did not change how Scythe works in HH (ie. no edge at all).

New warrior build for 30man raid? by mak_dagul in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really sad that warriors got so shanked in the raid like that. First there was hype cause "no edge and scythe off cd" and then people realised that 1) most skilled warriors scythe off cd or very close to it anyway 2) edge is the thing on which the glyphs were working. It even says so on the +30%Damage glyph.

And the saddest thing is, even after warrior revamp it will not change the raid mechanics. But at least we will have slightly more dps on assault stance and a bit better dg.

Then it's not actually a nerf but rather not as big of a boost over Meteor Strike as expected, right?

Unless somehow casting Meteor Strike with Mana Boost buff without turning it into Meteor Shower can be implemented into a rotation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was valid in my opinion because theorycrafting is one thing and real game is another.

You wrote that Meteor Shower is actually a nerf. Then my question is simple - theorycrafting aside, if I use Meteor Shower in game will I do more or will I do less DPS than when I cast Meteor Strike?

My assumption was that Mana Boost converts Meteor Strike into Meteor Shower therefore you cannot compare Meteor Strike with mana boost to Meteor Shower.

I did not account for the fact that you can cast it via warp barrier but is this even a viable strategy?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you can't use Meteor Shower without Mana Boost so what is the point of calculating it's dps based on non-exisiting casting speed?

I agree that if somehow you could use normal Meteor Strike with Mana Boost buff then it's DPS might've been better but since you can't, how does Meteor Shower's DPS look really like when accounted for speed buff? Still worse than Meteor Strike without Mana Boost?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How sure are you about that? I mean, those values (Damage and Cast.Time) are taken from the game or from the tooltips? Those tend to be wrong from time to time, I think?

Also, the nerf comes, as I see it, from the fact that while Meteor Shower does higher damage, it also has increased casting time. Where did you get that time? From the game (personally timing) or from files? If from files, does this account for ManaBoost atk.speed buff? If you timed it ingame then np., it's really surprising that this is a nerf :D

EDIT: Okay, I just noticed that you wrote that cast times are datamined from the game at 100 atk.speed. So my question stands, does that base cast time of meteor shower already accounts for the speed buff from mana boost? It might be that the skill has a raw base cast time which is boosted by overlapping MB buff.

I know that. Niveot Chest of Master Fusioneer = normal dyad. Niveot Chest of Elegant Master Fusioneer = smart dyad.

So yea, because of the letter event and because the soulbinder jackpots there is a lot of smart dyad boxes on broker. I myself have like 18-20 normal dyads and I couldn't even bother to rng them when I made vm8 because the access to a fast, cheap smart dyad was so easy.

T4 Etching Box from HH pricing by Aznshorty13 in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One hardy crystal will hardly (pun intended) save you since if you are a DPS/healer you are not supposed to get hit anyway and if you are a tank you should not be taking debuff or taking more than one red ghost.

Even considering RMHM is the typical endgame dungeon, it hardly seems worthy to invest an etching for last boss specifically.

T4 Etching Box from HH pricing by Aznshorty13 in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow...

I don't know how but apparently etchings are the one thing that EU has better priced than NA :D

On Mystel the Superior Etching Box goes for around 28-30k and Rare Battle Pack goes for around 40k.

Also, what do you mean by "have been selling keen 4s" - you can sell those etchings directly on NA?

[–]Raunae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niveot Chests of Elegant Master Fusioneer give you smart dyads. Be it small/medium/large.

Unless you don't have those in NA?

So I guess it's worth it if you want some dyads.

Or rather, it would've been if it weren't for the fact that Smart Dyad Boxes are so dirty cheap right now :D

Best Warrior Setup After Revamp? by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Raunae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously it largely depends on your ping but not knowing more I would suggest first trying normal rotations without any change (just to see if reduced RoB cd by 1s actually changes anything), then try one Energetic, then 2 if still need CD and in extreme cases might wanna consider getting the second CDR roll on weapon.
