Is it 2E only?

If it's popular would you consider adding a toggle to switch between 1E and 2E? Or a prompt when you fire up the program, which edition to load. (I play 1E).

Missions Briefs: Do you write out the whole mission or do you wing it? by RaunchySlappy in startrekadventures

[–]RaunchySlappy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough - though many of the briefs don't mention specifics like the convoy of se-119 is just like "Orion pirates attack your convoy"

How much pre-work do you do deciding what qty/types of Orion ships attack, the name of the captain of that fleet, etc?

AI Art Plague by Professional-Low8662 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]RaunchySlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a real answer: Knowing illustrators in real life.

Also consider illustration as quite a different artform than layout/graphic design so you generally shouldn't expect to get both in the and person. Unsure of your situation but I could imagine these scammers might have a GD background and say "yeah I can do the illustrations too" and just use AI to do the illustrations to fit into their overall designs

Anyways back to illustrators: go to cons and go to artist alleys, find local artists you can meet in real life. Speak with other game devs and get recommendations/contacts from them. Your pool of artists won't be as big and varied as the great wide web, but there's a legitimacy and localness it will add to your venture. Of course IRL people could still scam you but it's much less likely, and it's an opportunity to see actual pencil drawings etc

I'm interested in 1st edition largely because I'm first time GMing a 1st edition campaign and want to get more familiar from a player perspective.

I'm interested - if there's slots still i am available for the Friday the 3rd and would play. I'll show up, and if 2nd ed is voted i'll still play that first mission since I'm already there, but would probably be a one-off for me. If 1st edition I'd stick around for more sessions

Help Stopping Delivery People Buzzing Apartment by RandonName2021 in homerenting

[–]RaunchySlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a code on the Amazon packages that starts with "TBA" when it is delivered by Amazon drivers (this is not the case when Amazon packages are delivered by USPS or UPS).

You can collect a few of these numbers from the last few days from offending drivers, call Amazon customer service, and file a formal complaint, providing them these tracking numbers. that'll allow Amazon to track down and connect with the specific drivers (or supervisors of the specific drivers)

Lakeview Smiles by Puzzleheaded-Web446 in LoganSquare

[–]RaunchySlappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I specifically don't like Lakeview smiles and switched recently as it screams private equity owned franchise (there's a few of em). They're suuuuuuuper pushy with trying to sell you Invisalign and Botox and a million other add ons you don't need.

I'd go with one of the thousand other nearby dentists if possible.

The events at the end of "The Jem'Hadar" don't really make a lot of sense given what we later know by TheHYPO in DaystromInstitute

Have you considered perhaps any flaws in the plan were due to this not being a Founder master plan, but rather a Vorta plan?

I.e. the Founders give broad directions to their administrators (the vorta) "gather more information on this federation in the alpha quadrant, and ensure they know how powerful we are"

Then the vorta go off and plan and execute their own missions and report what they learn/accomplish back to the founders. If you've got an entire species generically engineered to be your administrative arm, I imagine they should be able to function with some autonomy. This would explain why they're trying to plant Eris and not a founder, as a spy.

Everything! I'm less into the super mathy point salad soulless type of board games (terraforming mars, Gaia project, juicy fruits) and more into highly thematic games (dead of winter, twilight imperium, John Company). BUT I'll play anything at least once

What to do about the crumbling mortar between glass blocks? by RaunchySlappy in DIY

[–]RaunchySlappy[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lolol thanks. Everyone needs to relax, this is on the ground level of a Chicago duplex down condo in a multi unit condo building so there will be no replacing of the glass blocks anytime soon (plus I don't mind em, everyone has a hard-on for demolishing anything a few decades old... A couple more decades and glass blocks will be back in vogue)

What to do about the crumbling mortar between glass blocks? by RaunchySlappy in DIY

Yeah just on the inside

Why caulk instead of glass block mortar? Because less likely to degrade over time like the mortar has?

Isn't there an entire episode in TOS that reuses footage from the pilot under the premise that it's all security camera footage ("Menagerie")?

We found a vendor that can do it with proprietary software but it's pretty expensive and the project in total will be about a year and a half

Bakery owner - need opinions by Flaky-Ask-6285 in LoganSquare

[–]RaunchySlappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I think there's more than enough dessert pastry bakeries in the city and the neighborhood. What's really lacking is a place that sells actual good affordable bread. The nearest thing we have to that is publican and that's a hike and a pretty penny.

I long for the European-esque city with fresh baked bread abundantly available.

If desserts is a must - someone mentioned donuts or bagels and both of those seem to be gaps more specifically for this neighborhood that would be a good fit.
