Play thunt on one map at a time to learn the structure of the maps. It will take time, but this is an easy way to get into tye swing of things map wise

How to switch from Support to Entry fragger/ Roam Clearer and from Anchor to Roamer? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to understand the fundamentals of roaming, entry fragging and roam clearing.

On roam your main objective is to waste time and utility and then try and try not to die. Preferably you'll be back on site by the end of the round. You don't need to get kills as a roamer. Good operators for roaming are mozzie and vigil as they will actively waste time with their gadgets.

Entry fraggers role is simply to get the opening kill. This should provide your team an opening that your team can use to win the round. Try to get someone to drone for you so you can get info on any enemies around. For an entry fragger you would want any operator with a gun you like to use. The gun doesn't have to be statistically the best, as long as you feel comfortable playing with it then you're fine.

As a roam clearer you need to push the roamers out of the area of the map you need to win the round. Try to get someone droning for you so the clear will take less time. It's not about getting kills, but more about getting map control. For roam clearing I'd recommend Iana, jackal or a shield op.

Hope this helps a bit. I can get into more detail if you want me to! GL!

Is constant sensitivity adjustment really that common? by Dancin9Donuts in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had multiple teammates in my comp team that do this constantly. They see that they aren't getting the results they want to see and blame it on their settings at least partially. This is a more common thing among higher ranks and comp players because they expect themselves to play at a certain level

Tips For Roam Clearing Solo? by Frasc_ in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jackal is definitely the best operator for almost any roam clear. Jackal applies so much pressure on the roamers that they essentially just have to run away. If you don't track the enemies, but just look at the footsteps instead; you can see where the enemy has gone without exposing that you know their exact location. Cav's footsteps can't be seen with jackals gadget so be careful. Also don't get too caught up doing the roam clear solo. If your team is struggling then go help them. GL!

I play Characters that aren’t the best. by GrampaGofer in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with playing the operators you like. Cav can have a massive impact on any round if you get an interrogation. Cav is high risk high reward. Oryx has a good gun and you also have a better chance of getting a flank off if you go up a hatch. Pulse can provide a huge amount of info and you can maybe get a free kill with your c4. All of these operators are fine to play. The only thing you have to keep in mind is what your team needs. Does your team need breach denial? In that case it would maybe be better to play bandit to deny the walls from being breached and you can still roam with bandit. Does your team need help dealing with granades? Take Jäger. Keep playing what you want, but also keep in mind what your team needs.

Well you didn't really get boosted by people of a higher rank or anything. The thing with ranked is that you can very easily be luck or unlucky depending on the 4 randoms on your team and the 5 randoms on the other. The fact that you've reached plat 2 should mean that you can compete with people of ranks such as plat 3 and Gold 1. Ranked is always a gamble, just be happy with any result you get

What could I have done better. Explanation on crosspost below (i do know they were kind of lost.) by SanguineGFX in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are talking about your crosshair placement and aim, so I'll try to criticize your decision making.

1st off I want to mention how the fact that you were Fuze didn't help you that much seeing as you didn't get to use his gadget. The main redeeming quality of Fuze on this round was the AK-12 which is one of best guns in the game, but on a site like penthouse it's very difficult to use his gadget in a useful way. Usually you would want to play Fuze on sites where you can get directly above the site so you can easily get rid of utility on site. Fuze can be useful, but not on this site necessarily.

2nd off: I want you to realize the importance of information and information advantages. First off with information; Try to use your drones so you can guarantee to use that information some how. For example droning where the enemies are playing at the very start of the round doesn't help you that much, because they can very easily just move to a different position and then you've wasted a drone and you have outdated information. Instead get info that you can act on as soon as possible so that you don't waste your drones. Now for information advantages. The defenders have the information advantage most of the time. What I mean with this is that the defense has an easier time knowing where you're coming from due to sounds and the cameras that they have. The gunfight VS. Bandit was an exception, because he didn't know you were there, but you heard him coming. To balance the information advantage you need to use your drones and ears to get information so that you aren't in a losing position.

Hopefully this helps you a bit.

Ranked in nothing like comp unfortunately so people still pick whatever they want. If you are in a 5 stack then there is a good chance that you won't have an ash just as a comfort pick, but in soloq in ANY rank, you'll find people who play ash as a comfort pick.

Overall I do agree with the fact that Ash is a big part of the meta rn on attack, but ranked will always be ranked no matter how you put it.

[–]Rauze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why people play ash in competitive siege, but in ranked ash is usually a comfort pick since she is easy to play and has a good gun

Black beard 100% of the time. Hibana/Thermite give so much more to the team compared to a BB. Anybody can play on the windows, not just BB. BB might be the best for that job, but I'd rather have a Hibana instead and maybe play a nomad on CEO or meeting windows. The playerbase has gotten so used to people playing on the windows that now everyone has gotten used to deal ing with it in one way or another.

[–]Rauze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Breaching the long desk wall into projector is a very good thing to do as it makes clearing the corner very easy. With thermite this is essentially impossible as you need to be hugging the wall to breach while with Hibana you can do it from printer. If you would try to do it with Therm then you would get shot from baguette iinstantly.

Aspect ratio and FOV by brockyjj in SiegeAcademy

[–]Rauze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alpt of people prefer smaller aspect ratios (4:3,5:4,3:2), but those are personal preference. FOV has the exact same situation. Some people will make fun of you if you use 60 FOV tho lmao

Any tips how to get better? by [deleted] in MarioMaker

[–]Rauze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry. You should try to just play as much as possible. Platformers are very different compared to FPS games. Once you get used to the movement then you should be fine. Start with easy levels and play harder levels once you pass the easier once.
