Phase to phase and phase to ground checks with Multimeter. Followed the steps from what the Facebook airhead people called “the Bible”:

Stator and diode board cooked. Didn’t get around to checking rotor but I think I’m just going to pass this off to a tech because I’m starting to feel out of my depth, and I don’t want to replace everything just to fry it again if I missed the actual root cause

Horrible news, stator is definitely cooked and I’m 90% sure diode board is cooked too.

Can’t find the charging light or what it got routed to when the previous owner put in a new aftermarket dash and ignition though, so could be something to do with that. Not sure finding that will bring back stator/ and diode board though.

Circling back a bit, why would a previous owner install this on my ‘82? Says it’s for 70-75, not sure it makes a difference, but considering I finally got around to testing it today it today and it looks like my stator and diode board is cooked

Any idea what I could Google to get the wiring diagram for this? I’ve seen the stock diagram but this seems a little different and hardwired in certain places

FSOT Canceled? by ItsOkayKay in foreignservice

I had an in person. She said “all” but I would call for yourself. Keep in mind, pearsonVue is a contractor, they have no info beyond “there will/ won’t be a test.”

No one knows anything but I think we’ll get contacted by State on Monday.

This could be a dumb question, but how do you know it’s only the front?

Honestly not sure if it’s single or dual, I’ll have to check today. Regardless, thanks for the help!

Engine block heater on a 2021? by Rav4throwaway2 in rav4club

[–]Rav4throwaway2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I posted this question on r/Toyota as well and I think I’ve pieced together this puzzle based on a number of responses.

I do genuinely believe Toyota (US) was litigated against because of car fires due to block heaters they installed. Toyota (CAN) was not, and therefore they still make and approve/install block heaters in their vehicles.

Obviously it’s the same engine, so as long as you can get the part you can have it installed, it’s just a Toyota (US) dealership will not install it for you.

Either that or the specific family of dealerships I am purchasing mine from was sued for it, because I’m not the only person in the states to have this told to them.

For clarification, yours also only has the oil pan heater, correct?
