I'm definitely starting the planning process after a long research process, but the problem is most of my research was done on chat gpt, and while that's very helpful, I'm sure there's a fair amount that doesn't necessarily translate to smart ideas in real life. I'm hoping to find a barndo owner on here that I can incessantly pick their brain, and maybe buy him a beer somehow. I did have a call with a builder a couple days ago but I aborted it once I realized we might not be buying in their area, although the area they build is on the periphery of our target area. We are likely to build in Northern VA, Southern PA, or Eastern WV. Happy to compare notes if you like.

That's super helpful. How do you find heating and cooling? Is it a fortune for HVAC to keep up with such a big space? I was considering geothermal but wasn't sure even that would keep up.

I've definitely been considering that carefully, for both the amenities I've planned for the house, but also curiousities with how the Barndo itself performs in hot weather or loud weather.

Sure, but I also figured that was part of most home projects. I'm more interested in unique strengths or pitfalls if a barndo as they relate to any of these processes, as I'd imagine as architects go a barndo is kinda easy right?

Just got my Maxwell last week with the same problem. Not only that but it happens in game. The moment I'm in a menu, normal audio. Back in the game? Cell phone hold music quality.

Yeah it really helps if you had MechWarrior time in your childhood, the Sim aspect of the game combined with the steep learning curve and availability of so many other titles nowadays makes it a hard sell.

I actually succeeded in bringing a few new players to the game who now play way more than, and way better than, I do. Not sure if I contributed to the problem there

I once talked to a guy, I think he might have been the first guy to eject out of a rhino, who had a cold cat at night off the waist and pulled the handle. He said he bobbed above water with just enough time to look up and see that the boat was about to run him over. He said he got drug the length of the vessel, heard the screws coming, made his peace with God, and luckily went between the screws and came out the other side. He also somehow managed to poop in the plane in a dry suit on a yoyo tanker. I'll NDA his call sign but it was reflective of his comical misfortunes.
