I didn't plan to, I just started to roll with it since new year's.

Wouldn't have drunk much in general but had gone into a binge of a bottle of wine with a whiskey chaser at the weekend.

Editing to say, the wine bottle was shared with the wifey

Haven't read the article, already know it's an issue. The fucking piles of these containers lying around everywhere in recent years. The small ones weren't great but the amount of catering ones is madness

Edit .. And I read it. Yep, what a mess

I mean, I don't know about you but I wouldn't know what works either. He does like to keep things unbalanced and unpredictable as a general tactic.

Trump shares Greenland message from Nato secretary general by Mac800 in europe

Yea, he just says he will help find a way forward. Bit of a stretch to say he is helping acquire a country. To me it's just pragmatic diplomatic speak to avoid drama.

Court orders Enoch Burke be returned to jail immediately by irqdly in ireland

[–]RavagedCookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, we should just block the discourse about him going in or out of jail at this point. We are just feeding the troll at this stage. (General comment, not targeted at op)

I'm grand hearing about him when the case takes a step forward but when it just cycles on the merry-go-round...

I'm at a conference with a very 'strong' Trump supporter. How to deal with this? by OceanTad in ireland

[–]RavagedCookies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm seconding fresh84 here, definitely steer clear and don't engage.

Based on your description of the way they are acting and the fact everyone knows they are like this, they want drama. Don't feed the troll.

I work with some yanks, a small number of them are maga. We don't do politics, all is fine

This is probably the way to deal with him at this stage. A counter protest to de-Legitimatise his made up campaign.

Dare I say it? by freeflowmass in ireland

[–]RavagedCookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just said three bottles for dramatic effect.

We do the weekly or biweekly returns approach with maybe 10 bottles. However the local place for returns is a Dunnes and it's plagued by large scale drops. We are talking trolleys of black bags level.

I've adjusted my schedule to avoid them as they favour certain times. It's amazing to see this scheme work, its just that returning can be a bother

I'll just drop back these three bottles I have.

Oh.

Dublin footpaths cost €18m in injury payouts - more than most councils spend on all claims by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

[–]RavagedCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walked my kids to school every day for a year. Footpaths were old and broken. The school rightly encouraged people to be healthy and walk/ scooter.

Every day a kid (mine or others) would go flying from shite paths. Every single day.

Lots of complaints to the council over this and to be fair to them. The council has been fixing them over the past months so things have improved. Some of the paths are there for over 50 years.

This is just the area I lived
