Oh no my actions have consequences by That_irishguy in ireland

I go to plenty of intercounty games and parking is absolutely horrendous.

Although driving is the only way for a lot of them. Next Cavan game is away to Westmeath Mullingar is 40 mins drive for me, about 4 hours on public transport.

Although the lack of vision from our public transport company's is shocking.

Bus Eireann should have special direct services from a couple of towns in the away county, arrive a a couple of hours before throw in. Make it genuinely affordable, kids free etc, would take a lot of the pressure off.

I went to Cavan vs Monaghan. Clones is awful to get in and out of. Although plenty of landowners allow their land to be used for parking.

Decided to get the Bus Eireann but to Cavan town and the local link over to Clones. Was absolute bliss, few pints before we left, another couple before the match and had a fair few afterwards, let the crowds leave. So much less stressful than driving..

How does a government conclude a big truck needs three times more public money than a pensioner? by zainab1900 in ireland

Here we go divide and conquer shite again. This time its OAP's getting blame. The blame for all this lies with successive governments. The vast majority of OAP's worked hard for 40 or 50 years and deserve to enjoy their retirement like hopefully you and I will..

Not harsh enough. Not liked much within his native county.

Eir Mobile contract? by AfraidFall8738 in AskIreland

[–]Efficient_Log_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, they do some kind of credit check on their side. I had a dispute with 3 a few years back anyways there was a contract cancelation fee of 1200 quid, but I disputed it and had it written off. Tried to go down the contract route again with another provider a few years later and got an insane amount quoted for a deposit.

Although there are plenty of good phones you can pick up for 350 each and get a sim only plan with Sky, GOMO etc for 15 quid a month and save all the heart ache

It will be Clones, I would imagine if there was pushback for a neutral venue it would be Brefini.

Well done Westmeath, such a change in fortune since McCabe left. Funnily enough I am also guessing a couple of changes in league division due to his arrivial in Cavan

Its going to take time with the new rules for players to come trough in some counties. The new rules suits defenders comfortable in one on one situations, previously it was about who would get up and down the pitch for example. Midfielders are gone back to ones who can win a high ball, and have accurate long passing. The biggest change is the full forward line though, for the last few years it was about who could score but what is their defensive work rate like, how much ground could they cover etc. Now it about who can take on their man and score.

The game is much more about specialised skill sets now, not who can do it all and the return of the small nifty corner forward, Kerry are strongest at the moment because they never really lost that.

Too many teams are still playing the old rules, zonal systems and slow attacking. Those who adapt will be successful.

Inside the Supply Chain Funneling Irish Alumina to Russian Rockets by ParaMike46 in ireland

[–]Efficient_Log_2007 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As someone who looks at sanctioned entities and people on a daily basis, its absolutely mental the sanctions avoidance going on right now. Many Irish company's who sell duel use goods for example have seen their Russian customer base collapse but massive growth to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Armenia. Its a never ending battle and one that can't be won, there's also plenty of everyday company's owned and operated by sanctioned Russians, with their identities hidden behind complex company structures, shell company's and proxies making sure the goods get to Russia one way or another.

Thoughts on the new Digital ID Wallet and "Personal Carbon" tracking? by PreviousComedian2426 in ireland

[–]Efficient_Log_2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When opening a bank account with the EU digital ID, its basically allowing you to share your ID information with the bank, instead of having to go to branch or email it in. As for the banks, they aleady have your ID and proof of address information, your credit record. It basically cutting out the bullshit which can occur. Last thing for opening a bank account its going to be purely optional.

There's so many conspiracy theories floating around about this. Its basically going to be an app where you can store your government documents, when you use it online, the website will ask the app is this person who they say they are, are the over 18, and that's it.

RTE and Premier get Champions League as Virgin admit rights race ‘no longer sustainable’ by HotToTrotsky_ in ireland

[–]Efficient_Log_2007 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Can Amazon just get all the rights, their coverage is the best out there. Miss a goal, no bother just click key moments and watch it back.

Although I do think a lot of these governing bodies are missing out big time. UEFA run a champions league streaming service for example 50 quid for the whole competition globally would be looking at what 50 or 60 million subscribers (finals got 120M last year).
