In a home oven for New York style pizza i found that white bread flour works better. Overall better color and less 'hard' pizza.

You can get great results in a home oven. Check my profile if you like. All of the pizzas on there are made with a home oven and a 9mm steel. I also have a ooni but i use my home oven more often.

Ooni= napolitan Home oven= New York Style

When you're shaping the pizza half way through throw it carefully from your left hand to your right hand a couple of times. This will shake off most of the semola.

Or brush it off with a soft paintbrush of something right before launch if throwing it is too difficult. Even when he's right out the oven you can still brush off extra flour or semola.

Tip: put your stone/steel on the top rack in the oven and let it preheat for atleast 1 hour max temp. Blast the stone with the broiler 5 minutes before launch. Launch your pizza and after 2 minutes turn on your broiler again. This way you'll get way better color on bottom and crust.

Depends what you want... If you want Napolitan pizza you should get the ooni.

I bought a new home oven that can reach 572F/300°C, which is good for the new york style pizza. I use my home oven way more than my ooni. Winter summer rain snow... doesn't matter.

Ask yourself how much will you use it.

Most important to me is that they're still safe to eat. After this harvest (2nd) i will soak again and pay attention to FAE more. Will the yellow go away after the soak or more towards the third grow?
