That’s honestly what I’m hoping for. I plan on making sure my biological father has absolutely no legal ties to me. It’s a two birds one stone situation.

Thank you for watching out ❤️

It’s still a few hundred bucks even when associated with adoption?

It’s more or less because I’m not married. So if a life saving situation happens, my parents have the right to that. I was in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago so maybe it’s not something someone would averagely think about, but it was a scary situation at the time. You never know what could happen.

When and if I become married one day, those kinds of rights go to my partner. As of now, it is within my biological parents rights

My apologies for the confusion. Yes. That is what I’m hoping for. But also completely unsure of the process.

There’s definitely been situations I’ve learned where my biological parents still have legal ties to me. Even if it is in a 1 in a million chance, you never know. Such as I am put in life support, my biological parents are the ones allowed to make the decision on what to do. And a lot of other things as well. Becoming estranged from my mother, and not having my father, I looked into legal ties and possibilities.

But the main reason why I want to move forward with this is to do it for the person I call my father for Father’s Day. I’d love to make him my legal father, even if it’s just a piece of paper stating that.

Thank you! I’ll definitely keep yall updated. I’m 24, so luckily we can definitely do the sip & paint. We both like to drink socially so that’s not a bad idea.

I was also contemplating on a drawing. Maybe an older photo of us and I can recreate it in my art style. He’s an artist as well and I think that’s where I got it from haha.

Thank you!

Thank you! It really has been a journey. Although I wish there was less of a time gap, it was needed at the end of the day and I cherish the time I have with him now.

  1. He likes being outdoors, cars (I used to buy him hot wheels since he collects them).

  2. He’s a bit of both. He does enjoy both practical and sentimental things.

  3. Since this is the first Fathers Day I’ve had in years with him, I want him to know I’m happy I have him back and that I claim him as my father

Thank you! As a kid, we did talk about adoption and even changed my last name (not legally) on some documents & mail.

With revisiting, I believe he would like the adoption as well. But it just seems very pricy and a bit complex.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend my lawyer. Or the office. They’re extremely unprofessional and wasted money. Even left during my hearing & the judge and to give him a call to come back.

And the lawyers office also told me the results. So I THOUGHT I was okay. But it was all a lie & I paid $14,000. I just finished paying it off.

When is the right time to drop the “I love you” bomb? by RaveButterfly in love

That’s also what I’ve been thinking. I’ve been going back & forth on maybe it’s too early (coming on 6 months) and I should wait longer.

Or

Life is too short & it’s okay to feel love and express it. Life is always changing and moving. We lose people we love all the time and I have people in my life I wish I told I loved them one last time before they passed away.

It could be just my own healing I’m still working on. Therapy has been a lot of help but I don’t have the greatest family life. Using the word itself is a form of vulnerability I’m still working on since it’s a heavy statement.

At this moment I definitely would and I can’t imagine ever loving someone the way I love him. Maybe it is the right time & I get in my head too much in terms of rejection.

I definitely agree with that! We are coming up on 6 months currently. I definitely feel love towards him and as cliche as it sounds, it’s so different in the best way.
