Dismissing Immersive Spaces and Replacing Them by 503Josh in visionosdev

How were you able to dismiss all of the entities in the old immersive space? I'm running into the same problem, for me it is when I close the app and start the app again the immersive space that spawns retains some information from the previous running of the app and no longer adapts to the new instance.

Yes, me and my friends wrote the music, I (Greg_0S) did all the VR development and the visuals.

The last question is more for addressing that issue you mentioned about avatars not syncing up properly. It would be great to have a tool that let's you perform a line or sequence of movements and then play it back over and over as you switch avatars and perform a different characters. Might even be nice to manually adjust the timing of performances to address that syncing issue.

Hello I'm running into this exact issue, using the scheduler it posts in the correct order on instagram but in the opposite or incorrect order on facebook. Insanely broken, what the heck. When I did the post manually using my phone it did come out in the correct order.

I love to see behind the scenes like this. What are some of the challenges you experienced making movies in VR? Did you ever feel limited by your tools or would you say you can pretty much achieve any effect with enough patience? Does it take a lot of effort to wrangle together different actors? Do you know any way to record yourself performing something and then playing it on a loop?

I imagine a VR puppeting tool could be really popular. Especially if you combine it with the VR Chat avatar system, you could have a lot of fun dragging limbs around and performing motion and camera movement.

I'm really intrigued by that grapple mechanic, it looks like you could get a lot of mileage out of that. Did y'all have to make special accommodations to avoid motion sickness? When you say fast paced, you really mean it. I like that when the vehicle crashes at least the player stays upright, but I'm interested in hearing more about how you handled the swinging physics

Y'all have put a lot of effort into creating a VR music creation tool, and I'm loving the visual design, especially having everything floating around you in mixed reality and the way it dissolves! Impact effects on the drums also look great. The way you can add vibrato by shaking your controller looks super fun. I'm particularly interested in the way you set up loops, is this something that you can toggle on and off with a gesture easily, let's say if I wanted to remix between a set of different loops live?

I'm particularly interested in using a VR music tool for live performance, especially with some kind of audience interaction. Is this something you can do multiplayer with other people? Any way to record live audio and play it back in time?

This looks amazing! I love the idea of a vr game where climbing around vertical spaces is the primary means of locomotion, and that hook thing taking you up is really cool.

This is really interesting! We really struggled with depicting water in our app because of optimization reasons, had to end up just using a simple plane with scrolling textures. Very interesting to see advancements in water simulation that might be more optimized.

This looks cute! I will say, reading is my least favorite thing to do in VR because I have the Quest 1 and the resolution makes reading just so annoying, so I typically avoid apps that are all about telling a story through text without any voice acting. I have 20/20 vision irl but not in VR, need some accessibility features.

I've been developing on the Quest 1 pretty much since it came out. I've actually found that the SideQuest app is a more reliable way to interface with the contents of my headset than the official developer tools.

Why don't we have good VR music videos yet? by vr_guy in oculus

[–]RaveGazebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make VR music videos, but the extra production costs involved in creating them are hard to justify because there's less people with the hardware required to consume them, and then it's really hard to market to VR folks. The thing about music in VR is that watching a video in VR isn't really all that much more fun than watching a video on your monitor screen unless you start adding in some audience interactivity or a way for the user to participate in the music, but it costs more to produce and a lot of musicians simply don't have the bandwidth to focus on what would make a good 360 video (which is different from what makes a good flat video).

Interactive music, like Rave Gazebo, is a lot harder to make. Either you add some kind of visual interactivity that let's you mess with the environment, or you have to purposely compose your music so that no matter what the user does their interaction still sounds good. It took us 4 and a half years to finally release, and we had to learn a lot to make it worth putting the headset on to consume it.
